[Discussion] What do you guys see in one piece

One piece in general is one of the big 3 and it has alooooot of fans today i tried hunterxhunter which is below one piece but from the FIRST episode i got hooked unlike one piece 300+ till it gets good and maybe it never does hahahaahah what i want to get here that why fans love one piece why does it have alooot of fans?

Did you actually watch it? The fact that you say 300+ instead of an exact number is very suspicious.
To answer your question. I don't watch the anime. I read it because of the story and characters. I have different opinions from everybody else, so it's hard to justify it to someone else.

OT: characters are likable, abilities are cool, story isn't that bad either. not big on the anime b/c of fillers, but i never judge a show by its anime, i rather read.

I can't stand it. I've tried both reading and watching it and it's sooo childish. It's like watching part 1 naruto for the entirety of part 1 and shippuden as well. I can't take it seriously at all.

Any story that doesn't hook me immediately isn't worth my time.

Thanks for calling some-thing lame that a lot of people on this forum obviously likes, even loves.

Admittedly, I admit it! It takes a while for One piece to transform from just good, to really great. It takes a loooong while.
Honestly, if I am to be really honest, I think One Piece first manages to find its true emotional core in the Drum island arch, and it first manages to show just how amazingly great it can be in the Water Seven arch.. and that's a good while into the show/Manga.

There are more than one reason to like it though, if I went really into it, I would write an entire essay that you people would just pass, so I must try to be as short as possible.
So well personally, I think it is funny as hell, has great multi layered characters you get emotionally attached to, amazingly imaginative and wild story lines, a great sense of childish adventure, genuinely emotionally deep felt story lines, and most of all. It entertains me, it entertains me a lot.

I watch HunterxHunter too, and I on't think it's as good as One Piece. I say to each their own, some people don't like it, alot of people do.

Now why I like it, badass and well developed characters, for example, Zoro, my absolute favorite anime character, great story, some little plot twist, emotional scenes and funny moments, action and it incorporates everything into one arc, every arc has this points.
