I think it's pretty clear, he's fighting Boruto and wants to kill him, considering how Kawaki said "I'll be sending you to meet 7th/to the same place" this means he already killed Naruto and now he's going to kill Boruto. I mean for example sending to other dimension wouldn't make any sense when he said that. Kawaki clearly stated he wants to end the age of ninja, which means he killed everyone and he wants to kill Boruto aswell, not send him to another dimension. Boruto even confirmed that, when he asked "did things really have to turn out like this?" Kawaki answered "yes" which means they're going to fight for their lifes and one of them will die.

You seem to think that simply reincarnating does something special. There's a reason why Indra and Asura chose their own descendants rather than some stranger. It's not the incarnation its the genetics that play the biggest part.
