It certainly would be easier to help if we knew what caused this to happen. Anyhow, let me clarify a few things.

First off, you loved him because of how he was, the same goes for him, however, some things apparently changed (my guess is that you two are still very young so this will happen a lot) and now the interest is gone. Having that said, doesn't it sound strange to be depressed over something you completely lost interest in? Anyhow, moving on to the next topic, there's nothing like people being destined for each other. You will never ever find someone that you will completely like since everyone has it's shortcomings. If you can bear the shortcomings and enjoy the qualities of a certain person, then you are compatible with that individual. You can have a successful relationship with that. However, don't let your mind fool you, a lot of relationships break apart because people fool themselves by having themselves believe their partner has no shortcomings or by trying to ignore the shortcomings. It's best to start looking for a partner around the age of 17 or 18 (for some 20), depending on how quick you're mature enough not to look at everything with the so-called love glasses on, you need to have a good perspective.

May this help you next time you want to set up a relationship.
