Its because he stopped his movements with his Rinnegan and the black rods like Nagato did with the Pains even tho Hashirama is poweful and could have normally over powered the rods if they were further away but since they were so close he was over powered so yea

I think since madara is full powered and hashi is still in the limited edo form. This may be enoug. For him to be able to be controlled buuuut I don't think he should be able to be sopped like that since he completely shrugged off the edo tensei control

I have to agree with this. The only people shocked about what is happening are the people who fanboyishly believed that hashirama was unbeatable.

He had been fighting with Madara for a long time already, which is not easy. He was tired from all that fighting and was clearly stabbed with a few control rods. When Madara returned to full power, he was able to use those control rods to make Hashirama stop moving.
Keep in mind: Since their last fight together, Madara has gotten MUCH MORE POWERFUL (Rinnegan, Wood release, etc) while Hashirama did not. We would expect Hashirama not to win this fight as easily as he did in the past.
