Is it the level of hatred, character, color symbolism? Does it even have a meaning?

The level of butthurt you have achieved with purple being the most intense and green (shisui) being the least
This may sound like a joke but honestly it sounds plausible

Chakra color.

Characters have different color chakra. Naruto's being yellow in the manga, which is why his Rasengan is yellow in the official color pages.

The anime kinda throws this away and makes everyone's chakra blue by default. But there are some places, like the Five Kage Summit, where Ao mentions remembering Shisui's chakra color after seeing his eye in Danzo, which was shown as green. This is why Kishi drew him a green Susano'o.

That would explain why Indra's is purple. But truth be told, black would have served his darkness better.

Well yeah indra was the most butthurt, then sasuke, then madara, then itachi wasn't hurt but he had a little bit of hatred for the village making him kill the uchiha, then shisui who never had to do anything that made him resent

How mentally stable the character is.

In Sasuke's case, for example, his Susanoo was violet due to his emoness and overwhelming stupidity.

I would say Itachi's is kinda unfitting, but, yes, it could represent the Uchiha blood spilled.

I doubt it kishi work is heavy with symbolism maybe represent mood colors

Interesting tho characters like obito madara sasuke all fall in far right spectrum, itachi is in far left and shisui color wise is in middle. So it could in way represent paths they choose to take.

Idk it's kind of confusing, Indra's chakra was in the blue/purple range so any of his descendants with Susanoo should have different shades of either blue or purple.

But at the same type chakra is linked to the soul so maybe Susanoo's chakra signature is determined by their personality. Itachi having a red avatar could be because he wasn't possessed by the curse of hatred when he awakened his avatar unlike Indra, Madara and Sasuke, it could've been Kishi's way of showing he had the Will of Fire.

So maybe if you awaken Susanoo with hatred it's a dark shade of colour like blue and purple because it symbolizes having a 'cold heart', and when you awaken it with love/passion it would be a brighter shade like red or pink.

I doubt it. If it was so important, not only would the colors fully translate into the anime like they were in the manga, but Kishi would have bothered to give someone like Kakashi a proper color instead of leaving that for the anime to cover.

I wish Madara's Susanoo was red.

A red susanoo would actually look good with his armor and it's a more sinister color. It would have to be a dark red though.

Something like this

It would have been so scary and creepy! Even more than the canon version.

Possibly but I'm sure kishi if does care about the colors of the susanoo let them know also that's technically obitos susanoo
