What defines a strong ninja?

Jiraiya claims its the ability to endure. Oro claims to know alll the ninjutsu. Some ppl claim is through intelligence(itachi) while others think its the potential(neji/sasuke/hiruzen/konohomaru) or is it through bloodline(hyuga/uchiha/senju) or through dojutsu(sharingan/byakugan/rinnengan) or kekkai gekkai. Or is it through hard work(Lee)?????????????:shrug:

It is probably an amalgamation of those things but different from user to user. With Naruto it is his desire to protect as he said to Gaara, whereas for Sasuke it is hatred.
