for me i think it has to be couples because people become demons when someone tells them the person they like is bad for them.

i have been apart of religoon vs non-religion debates (in real life) adn they are often freindly. I am a christian and i have very few bad debates with others.

as for politics that never became to agressive.

why is debating religion so unfreindly?

i have never debated online, but in real life i have had discussion with alot of people that don't share my beliefs, from satanists to evolutionists to muslims and every single time we had a freindly chat.

i don't remember any anger or hatred between any of us. perhaps a little uncomfortability, but besides that not much.

It depends on the type of person you are and how personal you take the topic. The reason you haven't had too many negative religious debates is probably because you were either debating with people who don't take the topic to heart or you yourself do not take your own religious beliefs to the heart. Not saying you don't believe in your faith just that you don't take it so much to heart that you can't acknowledge someone's valid argument.

Personally I think religion tends to be the worst debate to step into generally. Especially when it's Christianity involved since it's arguably the most popular religion. But that's only because there is a high ratio of Christians who confuse the words "faith" and "fact" and believe that they can prove God's existence when God never intended to leave any concrete proof because....you know...he wants you to have "faith". So that leads to very nasty arguments. Also the fact that Christianity is deeply rooted in loving God and Jesus, and you tend to take it a little personally when someone disrespects someone you love.

But I've seen every single topic you mentioned end very nastily both online and in person. And I've also seen very healthy religious debates. There are people to take religion, politics, love, etc very seriously so I say honestly the worst debate to get into is whichever one you are the most sensitive about

Politics. As, with religion you can end with "I respect your beliefs but I do not share them."

With politics you actively dislike the others opinion and actually vote and try to do the opposite. it's... Bothersome.
