I believe not having a contrived relationship would be a great start.

Maybe remove love triangles and have dedicated subplots so people don’t have to deal with jarring timeskip and left to use headcanons

For example if one was abused or had their life almost taken. Would them ending up together in a timeskip make for good writing?

Or people with zero prior interactions from another village having children make sense?

This doesn’t necessarily have to be related to romance but characters in general. Try to not mention names since users seem to cry when anyone is mentioned.

That's impossible as stated by Salamander every relationship from fiction are contrived. :lmao:

Regardless, yeah I agree the love triangle was completely unnecessary and was just made to bait shippers.

Not to mention Kishimoto wasted too much potential ( NaruHina ) after the Pain Arc, garbage writing smh... again just for what? Baiting shippers.

If you mean in Naruto then Kishi didn't have time to flesh out relationships. He had a deadline to meet and a lot to get done so your bound to have shortcomings, lack of depth etc.

[Sub]So we're going to keep the ball rolling because mods are on a roll.[/Sub]

So you’re fine with contrived writing so long as your scope of vision is full of “head canons” on how a abusive and homicidal man who tried to push away everyone managed to fall in love with a person he attempted to kill multiple times?

[Sub]That is the dynamic Kishimoto chose for their relationship. You're acting like this is the first dysfunctional relationship to reach a happy conclusion in shonen. Hint: it is not.[/Sub]

Oh man, then what’s the point of sublty in writing or characterization then? I mean if we can just have karui and choji have kids and assume they met in the grocery store and reached for the same cut of rib.

[Sub]What pairings Kishimoto made, how he presented them, and how much screen time he gave them is all down to him. Just because the development of one pairing happened predominantly off-panel does not necessarily mean their particular relationship is contrived.[/Sub]

I’d prefer if you didn’t post in my thread.

OT: lot of great responses. Realism would have been beneficial. Maybe get editors or writers with experience in romance.

Relationships in general in Naruto, not just romantic ones, are pretty horrible. Could be fixed by having more down to earth arcs like the Land of Waves scattered across the series. The rapid and broken pacing of the series didn't give time for such things to happen, unlike one piece.

They need more development in there ninja missions. I feel Naruto could have explored the world of Ninja more had it focused on doing ninja missions to develop there characters as they did in part 1. Like make a Naruto and Hinata mission where these two interact with one another, make them have there personal moments that are memorable. Giving you an idea of some sort of development. This is just one example there are plenty of others that can be used.

I requested you to pm me.

As mentioning specific characters by name compromises my threads.

Stay on topic, please

Romance isn't necessary for Naruto. Some of the end game pairings imo are so awful I can't even think of a way they'd be better without erasing them from existence. Just have an open ending and none of these contrived, dysfunctional and out of left field relationships would be necessary. But of course, SP needs their next gen money spinning machine :sdo:

Yo this is off topic. But I felt I needed to mention this anyways. Can you not make your writing so tiny that it requires a microscope to read? I don't see this fascination with little text.

The series would have been better if it was one or two relationships that weren’t in a triangle. Kishimoto pretty much forced a lot of things to get this new gen

She’s very disruptive and disrespectful. Poor sentence structure and it’s off topic and tiny. You

This is why this thread is made to get these answers. We are waiting for that one person to claim those tears were of joy. Just need one thats it.

That makes no sense.

Naruto and Sakura is a weird relationship, that's for sure. I don't understand it at all.

Ah, I see.

I see it now. How did I miss it?

Those were tears of joy indeed. I understand why now, but they are too incompatible to survive as partners. They should just be friends.

To be honest, they were doing better separated from one another; Sakura became the best medical ninja and sasuke became the best well, assassin ninja.

Those were tears of joy because he was saving her from what she was unable to handle. When the responsibility and burdens become too great; that's when he swoops in to save her by destroying her. It's too painful for her to live; the burden is too great, so he destroys the walls she creates to free her.

Sasuke isn't that bad I guess.

But the problem is that he can't save her; and she's no longer building walls or frustrated. She's fine; which is why he has no purpose in relation to her anymore. In a way, having Sarada confined them from their full potential. They should never have married or gotten together. They should have remained apart.

I bet Sakura no longer loves him because she no longer needs him. She's free.

Knowing Tsunade, Sakura would have gone off travelling the world, helping people and solving concerns as well as getting even stronger because unlike Tsunade, she didn't suffer loss, she suffered being overburdened beyond reasonable belief.

She could have developed her pure chakra manipulation by making a defensive derivative.

They don't need each other anymore, but they should remain friends.

I think a simple thank you should have been enough. I believe Sasuke feels confined to the marriage and so does Sakura; they are incompatible.

It's like this;

Sakura has the courage to say:

"Sasuke, arigatou."

Sakura leaves the village to rebuild herself and find her way.

Sasuke smiles faintly; he takes responsibility for the bad reputation of the Uchiha clan from years of hatred towards it for its malpractices and stays in Konoha to give service.

Except Sasuke is a selfish ####, so he probably teleported in front of her as she is about to leave and tells her, "you're going to rebuild my clan with me."

So instead of Sakura going to travel the world and build friends as well as develop jutsu and skill, Sasuke makes her a house wife.

Damnit, Sasuke.

Didn't he realize that, in a way, he overburdened her by doing that? She could have become a lot stronger by now by remaining in practice and sustaining herself even further in the field of medicine.

This is all speculation, I might be wrong, but I try to understand characters in every piece of anime or cartoon; the most interesting ones to decipher were Azula and Edd; I remember writing a 6 page essay on Azula alone.

She doesn't need him anymore; she'll only become bitter. I bet she's trying to give the marriage false hope but honestly, you can't love a psychopath, girl. Get going with your life!

I ended up writing a lot, but your question prompted a lot of other questions that I tried to answer.
