What color is the Rinnegan?

I sometimes have trouble discerning similar colors from one another and I was just wondering:

Is the rinnegan grey or like a very light purple (lavender). It may be different in the anime vs color pages of the manga but can someone help me out?

The Rinnegan was intially multi-colored with light hues before Kishi decided to make it light-purple. If you watch older Shippuden episodes you'll see the original coloration.
