Many characters in the manga possess clan names, others surnames or no last names at all. Kakashi is an enigma to these.
The only clues I have are his nin dogs, skills, Sakumo, compatibility with the sharingan and hair color.
For the nin dogs and Sakumo being called the white fang, the obvious choice would be the Inuzuka. If Kakashi had sharp teeth like them, that would support it further. Something tells me that since Sakumo is implied to be sannin level or higher, he may have possessed a sage mode or invented powerful jutsus like Tobirama. However, Kakashi cannot fuse with his nin dogs, does not carry them around like the Inuzukas and lacks physical strength, though it's uncertain he lacks heightened senses. I suppose this could be explained by his Inuzuka blood being thinned.
For his skills, white hair and again Sakumo, the next obvious choice would be the Senju. Tobirama possesses spiky white hair and like Kakashi, invented and mastered countless jutsus. The flaw to this however would be Kakashi's lower stamina/chakra and physical strength, though that too could be explained by his senju lineage being thinned.
There is also of course the possibility that Kakashi's family hailed from no clan or that they are their own clan whose background hasn't been revealed.
