what characters have no purpose in Naruto?

what are some character's in Naruto that shouldn't be there? maybe its because they are weak or becaue they don't do much? For example do you need two people who look and fight the same? (Guy and Lee) do you need someone to fight with bugs and not do much other then send them to fight for you? (Shino) plus haven't seen appear a lot in shippuden imo.

kurenai. random sensei tht got knocked up and stayed out of storyline with a few cameo roles.

i agree that kurenai is not really needed. the only thing she did was a genjutsu that was counterd at the most.
*edit* except for the child >_> if he had any role than it wud be worth it lol.

There are tons of characters that wouldn't make any difference either were in the anime's role or not. Shippuden is mostly around Naruto. How many teams existed? I can only remember about team 7. lol
Perhaps other characters will have influence in Naruto when they die in front of him which would make Naruto to blast rage and kick asses. ^^
