I liked him.One of my favorite Naruto characters.

His personality, outfit, fighting style ,everything is awesome.

He was very important in war era as second strongest member of Senju clan. He also defeated second strongest Uchiha = Izuna.

Great advisor for Hashirama an later great Hokage. Anbu, police, academy and chunin exams all of this is his doing.

He was great inventor he created Shadow clone and FTG main jutsus of former Hokage's Minato and Naruto.

Also thanks to him and his Edo we got opportunity to see many great characters that died.

I love how thanks to him, Uchiha's become Senju playthings.

I would chose him as president of my country

Still don't understand why he hated The Uchihas so much.
On a good side, he created Edo tensei, one of the most powerful jutsus in the history.
Was raised as a literal child weapon to kill Uchiha in war. They killed his brothers.

He accepted them but never truly trusted them for (admittedly) pretty racist biological reasons.

He didn't hate them, He simply couldn't trust them and saw them as a potential future threat to the village if/when another like madara rose to power within the clan.
he assigned a secret police to spy on a entire group of ppl, ostracized them from any seat of political power, and called Sasuke evil simply on account of his ethnicity. That sounds like somebody who is indeed hateful of another group to me.

Tobirama said himself that the reason he treated them as he did wasn't out of hatred it was just a trust issue

And he only called sasuke evil because sasuke said he might take vengeance on Konoha.

If he hated them he wouldn't of worked along side Kagami and many of these other uchiha that were said to be like him.

Personally, I always saw his morality as skewed. He's unquestionably racist, (as proved by his distrust of Sasuke due to biological reasons) but I doubt he's doing so hatefully. He's unknowingly being prejudice.

As a product of his time he likely thinks he has Uchiha figured out due to his knowledge of their genetics/emotions...but I doubt he knowingly sentenced them to eventual subjugation/death.

In the movie 'Django Unchained', DeCaprio's character gives a speech about the black man's brain capacity. It's a f*cked scene and truly racist, but comes from a place of supposed intellectualism. It's just straight racism with condescending faux-smartness to let him think he's not being hateful. I always saw Tobirama the same in that chapter. He even lionizes his past-enemies in his explanation. I doubt there's conscious vengeful hate there.

you left out the part where he goes on to use that logic to support his idea of them as being the most expendable group of ppl around Konoha. Whether it's vengeful hate talking or not isn't the point.

True, I was just trying to get into his head. Plus, DeCaprio's Calvin Candy is the villain of that film. And a pretty f*cking terrible one at that.

how does Tobirama working alongside Kagami change the fact that the latter was still not allowed to advance to any rank of authority because of his ethnicity? That's like saying the Union or Confederate armies couldn't be racist because they served with black ppl.
