[Discussion] What Are Your Thoughts On CNN & BBC's Report?

Currently, BBC has written an article and has stated that anime and manga promotes child pornography. And in 2014, as a lot of people know that CNN came out with a report stating that anime and manga promotes the same thing. What are your thoughts and opinions based on the matter?

Do you believe they are right or wrong? Does Japan have a problem with pedophilia (The age of consent in Japan is 13 years old! YIKES btw)?

In my opinion, I'll say yes and no. The first thing they got wrong was the fact that they generalized manga and anime as a whole. Not all manga and anime is the same (But mainstream is beginning to become cancerous tho).

You have great series out there in the world like Naruto, Kingdom, Seven Deadly Sins, Wolf's Rain, and even The Promised Neverland. It's retarded to just label everything as bad, when a lot of it is not the same in a creative sense.

There are a lot of anime and manga that do sexualize children and young teenage girls like Ecchi & Lolicon (Fairy Tail & Astrisk Wars I'm looking dead at you). And I'm not gonna lie, Japan is the mecca and hub for pedophiles. It's like Disneyland for them. I mean you got crap like Ecchi and Lolicon that is downright disgusting.

You do know anime characters aren't reallly little girls and boys right? Most of them are voiced by real people in their 20s, 30s,40s.

How many *** scenes can you see in teen dramas and teen movies. They have their own freaking genre!
The fact that The west does sexualize teen culture is the hypocritical part. And don't lie, the west does do it. The only problem is that it's live action so it's real and not weird. "Anime is cartoon and that makes it weird " - said by outsider.
