^^ I will leave these threads to show you what these weapons truelly are, and what is their weakness or way to get around them.

in short: They are spiritual weapons, which are made of spiritual energy which along with physical energy make chakra. Just as spirits/souls which are made of spiritual energy proven by manga, then can be grabbed via chakra contsructs as chakra arm, Susanoo arm, goudama arm etc. and grab is not attack by itself, so they could be locked with Itachi's Susanoo being unable to break this grip render them useless while opponent can attack him from other side, outlast him or just try to bust him with OP attack.
