Kishi is probably aware from viewer votes that a lot of people dislike the pacing of these flashbacks. That combined with the break from Golden Week hopefully will create an epic return chappy

These flashbacks = Excitement. They have already given us a lot of info. We didn't know Orochimaru was Danzo's right hand man. We finally got to see Torune's father, which Tobi knew about.

How do you know it wasn't Aoba? Any confirmation? Afterall, for some reason Kabuto was aware of Aoba when they met on Turtle Island.

Exactly. Unless the manga explicitly tells its its him I doubt it is either Torune's father or Aoba.

As for me I am looking forward to a change of pace and not a filler. Those are for the Anime. =__=

I mean the Danzo thing was interesting but doesn't really change the story or anything for all we know Kishi made that up on the spot *cough*.

The backstory is interesting of course I love finding out about Orochimaru but there are a tad bit important things also going on.
