What are the Six Paths

What are the paths Tobi is talking about in chapter 510 p 12 and later in p 16?
please tell me. i am confused

Nobody actually knows what Tobi means by "The Six Paths" in this case. He refers to himself as the Second of Six Paths, and calls Nagato the Third of Six Paths.

He's not really referring to The Six Paths of Pain or his Jinchuriki Paths. Just like Tobi's identity, this is also a mystery.

Are you sure he isn't referring to those who possesed the Rinnegan in that order? First it was the Sage of The Six Paths then Tobi got ahold of it and then Nagato since Tobi gave it to him apparently
