I didn't really understand anything in the last few pages, anybody want to try figure this out...? Are those Naruto's footprints? The alliances? Also the chapter was called 'Track' so I guess it has something to do with that.

Neither did I, but after re-reading, I think those footprints are supposed to represent the trust of comrades that Kakashi is talking about. Like, those are the SA's footprints. Also, I've been told that the "New Year" represents WSJ's new year, not the actual year 2014, which is apparently in 2 weeks.

You don't actually know how long i've had that theory going. Kabuto waking up, healing Anko & rescuing Yamato to go defeat Oro (the hypothetical final villain) Just when I thought it was out of sight :'(
