[PS2] What Are The Best PS2 Games?

My pride and joy is my PS2 collection of games, IMO the PS2 is still the best console and instead of upgrading to the next generation i'm planning to go backwards and expand my PS2 library (50+ games) further.

My favourite games are Star Wars Battlefront 2, The Naruto games and Kingdom Hearts 2. I plan to get Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear and Spyro eventually too. Any other suggestions?

My favourite genre is the fighting genre. Dead or Alive, Marvel VS Capcom 2 etc.

Spiderman 2. That game, holy sh*t that game. Its famous for being known as GTA Spiderman. Easily the best spiderman game to date (closely followed by Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions).

I own it and i'm actually not that huge on it, I bought it because of the hype and unless i'm missing something I much prefer the Ultimate Spiderman game on the PS2, it's more cartoony but solid.

Great suggestions. I'll be picking up that Metal Gear and Final Fantasy for sure (not silent hill tho bc im a ***** at horror games) and yeah I have KH1, but it's a very testing game imo that I need a lot of patience to play.

I wasn't surprised by it until I saw characters from the Imperfect's roster. I was playing against The Wink, I was like 'what the f*ck?'

If you're looking for Marvel on PS2 there's no better game than Marvel VS Capcom IMO, that is the best 2D fighter i've ever played.

Yeah, I've played it my friends house a lot. Very fun. Funny how many current gen consoles and games have updated graphics and far more advanced technology, but fail to surpass that which was achieved by things like the PS2 (many other examples, I don't care to list them, PS2 is the only thing that comes off the top of my head).

100% agreed. Graphics got better but the medium got distorted and genres like Sports and FPS became the only thing that matters because it sells. I own a PS3 for INFamous, Naruto Ninja Storm & INFamous. Those are the only modern games I can bother playing and now we're in PS4 Generation the PS3 isn't leaving the same impression and charm that those did. I LOVE the PS2 because of it's simplicity and what so many people were able to do with it's capabilities, made for some really imaginative games and they REALLY pushed the hardware to it's limit by the end of it's run. You can pick up like any game now for under 5 pounds, if you're good with money you can buy 10+ games for the price of 1 full-price modern game these days, that's CRAZY. And even with the bad games i've come across (Dog's Life, Lord of the Rings & Duel Masters) every game is still fun in some way or another.

I made a Youtube series about playing these games with friends and during it I realised that every game on the console is fun in some form or another, whether you actually enjoy it or just laugh at it there's no boring game on the console imo.
