[Question] What are the administrator's standards for usernames?

I'm trying to get a new username and every name I attempt it always says:

That username is already in use or does not meet the administrator's standards. If you are Nero and you have forgotten your password, click here.

And no. The names I've attempted haven't been taken. So what exactly are the administrator's standards for usernames.

If you are using special characters it won't work. They can only be added manually by an admin.

They have been taken. They don't appear in the member list because :-

A) They are Perma Banned - You can't get the name.

B) They have made zero to one post but they have approved their Account through E-Mail - You can't get the name.

C) They have not approved their account through E-Mail - In this case, you can ask an Admin, they will delete the account and give the name to you.

If Method C doesn't work, you have no choice but to use Special Characters to get another version of the same name like : -Nero- ~Nero~ Nero. (With Dot) etc.

Also in addition to the replies above, certain names are censored (words that are expletive in nature) so that counts as admin standards.

Try using the search button when that happens. As for names that can't be used, like someone stated, special characters, names that are too long or too short, have obscene words, etc etc are not allowed. Basically, anything that is either taken or collides with the global rules of the site.

I want the name Lord Orochimaru but a guy got that name. And that guy has been inactive since 2008. It's unlikely he will show up again. SO, Can anyone do something ???

Normally you can't get the name but you should try asking Lawliet. She might do it as she did it with Penguin.

No bad words and no usernames that are already taken, from A-Z, from 0-9 and spaces are allowed.

page and the search option over there to see if it's already taken.
No usernames that comes even close to my name or my previous name.
