What are some anime like Hellsing?

List some anime where the protagonist is a complete overpowered badass right from episode 1, bonus if the protagonist is slightly twisted/evil.

I really enjoyed Hellsing and would like to get a similar experience from other anime

Darker Than Black - It's a ridiculously powerful and skilled fighter working for a syndicate. The beginning is kind of confusing though and the real enemy isn't clear at all unlike Hellsing.

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom - 2 People working for a organization with allot of power, the organization itself is the real enemy.

Don't really know any other anime that I could call similar to Hellsing, Hellsing is pretty damn unique.

Yeah definitely watch it.

Considering I'm almost at my rep goal I can start posting more often so I went up on MAL and took a peek at what people find similar to Hellsing Ultimate.

There are some recommendations for Black Butler, here's what they say ''Both are in a Victorian-era setting with heavy paranormal activity. Plus, there's also the master/servant thing going on between Integra and Alucard.''.

And also with Devil May Cry, here's what they say ''Both have badass main characters who are loners and are very cruel in enjoying their massacres. That's about the whole story right?''.
I think Dante from DMC is also a vampire, not sure.

And I had absolutely DMC had a anime, thought it was just a videogame.

not sure if you watched it but, the remake (golden age "egg of the king") was released in 2012 and was really good/highly advised.

Oh god no. Ganta is a joke at the start. Still an epic series though.



Can't think of many where the protagonist is instantly the best from the start, but in terms of gore/fighting.

Tokyo Ghoul, Deadman Wonderland, Akame Ga Kill, and Psycho Pass can have some pretty brutal moments.

Elfin Lied and maybe Black Butler (only seen like 8 or so episodes) could fill the bill.

I'd consider Black Lagoon, too. Even more badass gun-filled action than Hellsing. Revy's not exactly overpowered like Alucard is, but she is one of the best fighters in the series.
