[Discussion] What are Orochimaru and Kabuto looking for

There has been something that has been bugging me lately.
Orochimaru and Kabuto have since the beginning of the series been on a scientific quest to find out the secrets of this world by pursuing the powers of the So6P. Thats all well and good, but the fact is they are still searching.

They know that in'youton becomes available when one uses the power of senju and Uchiha
They know the requirements for Rinnengan
Orochimaru has seen the power of the Juubi jinchuuriki.

WHATS LEFT TO KNOW???:nuts:
I have done a theory on Kabuto's quest for the power of the Sage, but I am completely stumped as to what power it could bring forth that we have not seen already.

Any Ideas???

kabuto said he was the person closest to the sage, I believe he was refering to his muki tensei. The ability to manipulate life. I believe that the next step would be The Creation of All Things justu.Kabuto was able to control reality, because of his understanding of the natural laws-and technique, the "next step" that Orochimaru seeks might be to control the imaginary and eventually combine both control over the unreal and real.

Note: Perhaps his wish to control the imaginary "genjustu" is another reason as to why he wants the sharingan.

I doubt Orochimaru knew about Rinbo Hengoku/Creation of all things, hence I believe Oro wanted to have powers of Uchiha and Senju both.

The only thing is I doubt it was simply the Rinnengan. They have already found out the requirements. Kabuto knew what Obito was composed of and still stated that he himself was the closest to the Sage. So the Rinnengan can't be Kabuto didn't even have senju DNA

Thats an interesting idea. Kabuto was able to master the Yang principle of breathing life, the next step would be the yin, but will we really see perfect in'youton??? Thats a more than hax ability.

If u continue search for the ultimate being after seeing the power of the Sage like with Obito and Madara then something has to be up, my question is what left and how could Kabuto have been closer to that ultimate being than Obito.

They don't want anything to do with the juubi.. they want themselves to be that.. madara and obito are just some stitched together pieces of shit... they only had some power after becoming the jinchuuriki.. well madara was powerfull before, but still a mere mortal.

Well, the Sage's powers stem from the Juubi. I agree with the thought though that Obito and Madara's power (pre TTJ ) could possibly not be the ultimate being that they were looking for, but what else is there?
As for the scan, I have no clue -Sasuke brought it in. My guess would be hiruzen's flashback from part 1. The art fits.

Only thing is Orochimaru is looking for something from Sasuke as well and even he doesnt know what it is so apparently he doesn't have all the knowledge.

I don't think that he searches for something specific from Sasuke. Apart from his body and eyes that he wants, Orochimaru at the end of the day is a scientist and more specifically an anthropologe. To that extent, Sasuke for him is another exmperiment as he wants to see the path his student will follow and he indirectly compares him to himself who wanted to destroy the village as well as the fact that he's intrigued from Sasuke's similarly strong desire to learn all the things he wanted, a desire that even made him to revive Orochimaru.

No, Orochimaru already noted Sasuke's affinity to senjutsu chakra and that Sasuke is no where near his full potential. The fact that Orochimaru stated that this was based on his scientific curiosity proves he is expecting something

I still don't think Thats quite right. After all that pretty much describes Madara and that definitely wouldnt have been enough to say Kabuto was the closest to the So6P. He had 1/3 while Obito had 2/3 and the rinnengan. Would u mind taking a look at the theory in my signature

I read it but the end sounded a bit fanboyish for sasuke. you share similar thoughts with me about the parts of the sage's power and btw kabuto said that before madara gained sage mode.

Well, my reasoning as to why the Hyuuga don't exactly have the Sage's eyes, but the Uchiha do is because the Hyuuga lack the eyes capable of changing with the shifting of the user's chakra. The Hyuuga may have very well descended from the elder son, but they lack the spiritual energy, and the eyes that respond to the inborn special chakras of the Uchiha.
Its similar to how the Uzamaki lack the physical energy of the senju, though both are descended from the younger son.
