So we will undoubtedly hear situations where an armed civilian shoots the bad guy to save the day. Okay, cool.

But, now that leaves the question, could the situation be defused where no one dies?

Would an armed civilian just shoot first ask questions later? Are they trained in conflict resolution? Is that a requirement for a gun permit?

What do you guys think?

Problem is: not everyone is able to have weapons. Even soldiers must be trained in order to know how and when use them.
And even them fail at times.

Giving guns won't stop criminals from being criminals in the end. Actually the robber will always have the element of surprise.

Nobody cares if people are killed by civilians or police. You could try to spare the person's life but you would likely get hurt instead.
I know we don’t care. It’s just another news report because of so many instances. But legally and ethically. Will parents or children sue the shooter, which ironically was the hero of the situation?

Why would they sue? Because basically... vigilantism?

How about we stop trying to make excuses for people who choose to commit crimes against others.

It's pretty simple. Break into a home that doesn't belong to you, and you may just get fed a slug of lead at 1200 feet per second. Don't like the idea of that? Don't break into places that don't belong to you.

It's so simple, a cave man could do it.
