Just a gripe with how poor the narrative in Naruto got after Obito was defeated. Madara for all intents and purposes should be stronger than a Non-Jin Rikudo. Yet he's getting held up by the 8th Gate.​

You do realize he was only toying with Gai to see if he has other techniques. That's why he compared him to Hashirama. Further the implication, Gai's death is coming, so its bad writing to have Madara beat him instantly without seeing 8 gates hype and hero death of Gai.

This is true, but its only relevant because of the bad writing that's already in place. Guy should have never been able to stand against even a Non-Jin Madara.​

Well we certainly do not know anything about non jin rikudou's powers. I can only say madara could have done better in this chapter.

Because the 8 gates has been hyped since the chunin exams in part 1 so we need to see it in full action before Guy dies.
Guy won't defeat Madara but he will die a well-deserved heroic death by protecting the people he loves

The narrative was good when Madara WASNT the juubis jinchuriki-he stomped hashirama, naruto, bee, 7 other tailed beasts, Tobirama,Sasuke etc But once he became the juubi jinchuriki, it seems he stopped using all his other techniques. A bloodlusted Madara wouldn't even allow Gai to open the 8th gate.
