the reason you only see 7 8 and 10 is because kishi is to lazy to do the rest of them because he would also have to do back stroy for them and ect. my opinion

they did they were teams of the genin that where extras ( like the one that pushed naruto into sasuke making him kiss him) but they failed thetest they where given remember they said only ( of them would become genin the rest would be sen back to the acdemay ( and those 3 teams 789 are nine people altogther)

i don't think team guy was nine, they weren't shown in the academy and at the time they were assigning teams to their sensei..
they first featured at the chuunin exam where lee pawned naruto nd sasuke

if i remember iruka in the original series there are ten teams but only 3 or 4 teams matter because they had mainstream chars in them etc
