Were the uzumakis the strongest clan

I'm saying strongest clan comparatively and they weren't wipes out just scattered after multiple villages ganged up on them

No, but they definitely had the strongest life force, hence why they were tasked with keeping kurama under their control. Nagato was a special case due to Rinnegan. Other than that there isn't that much to go off of. Naruto techincally is Namikaze, then you have Kushina and Karin, both pretty similar in strength so its hard to say.

I disagree.

There's a reason they were chosen to be Konoha's jins exclusively, they not only possessed strong lifeforce but strong body as well to be the host of a bijuu. Even a newborn Naruto was able to contain Yang Kurama who was still stronger than many other tailed beasts combined.

Nagato has far superior feats with the rinnegan than Obito who had Hashi's DNA as well.

Mito, Kushina and Karin were all above average ninjas and have shown feats that surpasses those of many stronger ninjas.

Nagato, Mito, Kushina and Karin are the only pure blood uzumakis shown in the manga and all of them were quite strong.

Other villages feared the Uzumaki clan's sealing techs so much that they had to gang up on the Uzumaki village to destroy them.

OT : Yes they were very OP and makes we wonder how hax they'd be had they lived. Their sealing techs must've been quite fearsome and so far every Uzumaki has been shown to be quite formidable.
