Of course he was fodder like the others surviving rasengan isn't a feat. Fodder even get solo'd by c rank jutsu. We'll disagree on Sarada struggling because of points. It's like me saying Sarada couldn't beat a foddet (which wasn't her job) And Boruto did so he's better. Then saying Boruto couldn't knock out Shojoji Sarada's kick did therefore she's stronger. None of these are relevant or prove a characters abilities. And so far rasengan hasn't 1 shotted anybody but no names (irrelevant characters Or fodder as they're more commonly known.
Using Hahsirama is a poor example and neither does Boruto compare to a mokutwig of Hahsirama' s also Tobirama had S/T jutsu which are very effective in combat Minato used it to take out 1000 people so Izuna losing to that isn't really a loss. The truth is there battles were off panel and we don't know of they excelled at or used genjutsu in them.
Later Uchiha however have demonstrated and are famous for using genjutsu in battles even against incarnates and a rule was made face them in 2's. They serve as a very effective tool in battle. The reason I make the case for Sarada is if the Boruto databook is true which is seems it is based on Boruto's current display. Her field of expertise is Genjutsu and that has a 4 star ranking + ninjutsu knowledge and Marksmanship (to do with tools).
As far as Im aware kishi wrote that offical databook for the movie. And we couple that with the sharingan we give Sarada credence it doesn't mean this is definite it's likely.
Boruto's Jogan has 0 feats so far because no details have been given hence we can't comment on it. Sarada having Sasuke's talent is because the statement has been made by the official databook which kishi wrote for the movie (as far as Im aware). So the conaprison of the 2 cant be made.
The truth is and always will be that until the manga is over we'll not know who stands where.
