Both Itachi and Kisame were partners and they respected each other .
Even though Itachi was a spy , he din't seem to hate Kisame . When Itachi died , Kisame was really depressed about his death until Obito revealed himself to him . Before Kisame died , he thought of Itachi and their first meeting .
So where they good friends or where they just colleagues ?

I don't know if they were Good Friends (due to their line of work/ stances on things), but I think they did like one another. At the very least they had some form of mutual understanding of one another (the fact they killed those who they found as people they loved or were allies with).

I mean if they were good friends I wouldn't be surprised, but I definitely say they were friends to a degree.

No.

Kisame didn't care about Itachi. He only wished to surpass and kill him. He was only afraid of him.

On the other hand, Itachi considered him as an enemy. He took out the whole Akatsuki as an mission - not a resting place.

Maybe from Kisame's point of view they were but we can't be sure about Itachi..the guy was a pro liar after all;)
It could be that Itachi viewed him only as a colleague:)

There are many kinds of friends, so I´m sure they were in some manner. Both of them had been lost in their worlds of lies, and had slain their kin, so obviously that gives them some common ground on which to build up a stance of respect towards one another combined with strength. Kisame truly considered Itachi a friend, but Itachi probably had a careful stance of mixed feelings on the matter due to his allegience, so on Itachi's part it is somewhat unclear, although he had masterful control over his emotions so he was hardly showing much upon figuring out his death.

Kisame's life was hard and full of lies. Kisame couldrelate to Itachi but Itachi had a good out look on life and wisdom that he would tell Kisame. They both had mad respect for each other and Kisame probably thought of him as more than just a friend but a best and only friend(other than samehada =D)

funny thing is Itachi is a huge liar and was their to spy lol. A cool scenario kishi could have done was Akatsuki finds out Itachi is a spy and Kisame is ordered to kill him....I think Kisame would join Itachi's side or at least sheda tear after he killed him

Yeah they were friends. Kisame cared about Itachi. The way the two used collaborated reflected that idea.

I agree with this. They weren't as close as most friends, but they did have a degree of respect for each other.

Enough so that Kisame tried to comfort Itachi after Sasuke's "death".

Kisame thought highly of Itachi, Itachi's stances on Kisame.. we don't know though

Seeing that they spent years together I can't see how they wouldn't have some kind of bond. They definitely respected eachother, and I would say they were friends. Usually a person who you don't care about wouldn't be in your dying thoughts.

It would have been cool if Kisame was revived by Edo Tensei and when Itachi reaches Kabuto's cave , he is confronted by Edo Kisame and than both of them fight and the fight ends with Itachi sealing Kisame with the Totsuka Sword and Kisame says that they should fight again in the Afterlife .

They highly respected each other due to going through similar pains in killing the ones that they loved. Similar to how Itachi and Nagato respected each other as I'm aware.

I think you need t take your own advice...

Kisame and Itachi were friends and they seemed to care about each other to a degree. Kisame has often reminded Itachi to be wary of overusing his MS and Kisame was upset about hearing of Itachi's death. Even Kisame's last thoughts were of Itachi and he showed a great deal of respect for him.

Hard to say, I think they were as close as two killers can be without losing their alertness. Although Kisame's final moments made it seem as if they could've been close friends had their circumstances been different.
