[Theory] Were Hashirama and Tobirama Samurai's?

Looking at the outfits of Hashirama and Tobirama, wouldn't you say they look like the Samurai's? Can they actually be one? I don't see why not. Maybe they founded the Samurai clan too or somehow linked to them.

This theory actually came from pg 18 of the latest chapter 531, where at first sight, i thought the young Mifune was actually Hashirama.

considering the manga also seems to state that the samurai were a bygone age impying that they were the main force for peace and or fighting before the emergence of ninjas. if we are to think upon whether the sage of the six paths really introduced ninjutsu coupled by the fact that the current manga seems to say that old samurai dojos were turning into ninja academies then it would mean that the 1st ninjas were most likely samurais.
and since some people refuse to let go of tradition, it could be that the senju still practice the forms of the sword alongside ninjutsu...

It was just style form back then, Uchiha Madara wore about the same thing.

Samurais not using is more of a choice and culture than that they cant. I bet they could if they wanted, but they have a different way of using chakra and have a totally different way of fighting.

It's just armour that is abit similar, nothing else. Uzumaki's also wore similar armour, Uchiha's wore similar, Choji Akamichi also wears similar armour. None of them are samurai.

There are a lot ninja's who use swords, but that doesn't make them samurai's.

well that goes without saying, but it seems that the world of the samurai is a older culture than the world of shinobi. If so then it would explain that they wore similar armor and stuff. Sarutobi also had a samuraibased armor if I remember correctly.

No evidence to dismiss this theory. It is possible that the predominate mode of warfare was Samurai vs. Samurai in the pre-Hidden Village days. For example, the So6Ps spread his wisdom throughout the 'Naruto' world--but slowly. It could have been shared only with a chosen few. After time, the Samurai were steadily defeated by forces including an element of battle-deciding ninjutsu techniques. Leading to their dissolution. Which in turn lead to a period of chaos with a power vacuum, which created the opening for the creation of the ninja villages.

According to this line of thought, the early leaders of the Uchiha, Senju and Uzimaki clans were Samurai by trade. However, by lineage, such families had been privy to secret Ninja knowledge. Thus, they were in a unique situation to dominate once the old order had been demolished. There is a considerable amount of time to account for between the Sage of the 6 Paths existence, creation of the bijuu and the eventual formation of the 5 great Ninja nations system. So much time, in fact, that the Sage was thought to be legend or myth.

All just speculation, but from the gist of the conversation between Mifune and Hanzou, a logical one.

The samurai use chakra, and force it into their blades, I think it happens during the Kage summit. And someone from Sauskes team mentions it Karin I think. I think it will be/ was like Ausumas trench knives., or Sais claw.

I think if you look back in history you'll see that ninja and samurai, appeared around the same time, working on opposite ends of their own code.
If you look at hirashima and Madara, its more like they are versions of both ninja, and samurai. Hirashima when fighting Madara and the demon fox the first time had a row of blades and Madara is attacking with a blade as well. And then when you see Itachi going to ask Madara for help with his mission against the Uchiha, The masked Madara also is carrying around a blade, a lot of anbu do as well, so did Kakashi, and his father. You also have the diffrent versions of the 7 Swordsmen of the hidden mist. Who are master swordsmen, and skilled at ninjuitsu.

So6P could be the first person to successfully combine chakra with the elements (with a little help from his Rinnegan's) thus creating Ninjitsu, the ultimate usage of chakra, which gave him the fame he has now.

Look at the Madara and Harishimas bettles with Madara. He uses blades, has a whole slew of them when Madara attacked the leaf with the nine tailed beast.

The Sage went around the world teaching people Ninjitsu, not chakra manipulation. The tailed beasts is really Juubi itself and Juubi is just a big blob of evil chakra, maybe created from all the evilness of human beings molded together? Just a guess.
