NH won in a crappy way.
- NS would have happened if Kishi didnt have a shitty view on woman.
- You were only going to get the epilogue, the movie was not Kishi's idea.
So NH was going to stay the undeveloped pairing it is.
Since sakura was a character created by the demand of his editor, that Kishimoto never knew how to deal with her, never knew how to put her in the story since she wasn't a part of it at the start...

Kishi have a shitty view on woman that's true, but it doesn't cover all of them. Tsunade was one hell of a woman for exemple.
Moreover, kishi admitted himself that he is bad with writing romance stuff, that's why
he purposed a movie to help him cover that part. He took the opportunity of a movie to deal with a part that he never though to be able to deal with.
The only real problem I see about the end and the movie is the release date of the movie: after the manga end. It leaves a too bitter taste of the ending and he makes his readers wait for answers.
Don't let the bitter taste blurry your point of view.
