I think they'll be used to keep naruto alive. you know with the remaining kurama chakra

The kyuubis chakra was already pulled out of it. (as shown in the tug of war to free the bijuu). So that will not be its use.(I could be wrong though)

I think that the sages tools will play another role. They may contribute to his downfall, but Im inclined to think that they wont be used to defeat him.

But madaras choice to just let them go, was not a bad one made just for plot. Madara doesnt have a space time jutsu like obito did. And those are big tools. He cant just carry them around with him.

Then you have the fact of his ego, and the fact that he thinks that he is just 1 rinnegan short of beginning to cast the eye of the moon plan. If you already crushed your main real opposition, and are enroute to finish your plan, you are not going to worry about some minor things. Especially if you know how they work, and can not be harmed by them.

If he did this as a edo, or just when everyone was still fighting strength, then yeah it wouldve just be real dumb and stupid of him.

So out of character for Madara to do. More like a nose pull, rather than an ass pull.

How was it out of character. He enjoyed toying with ninjas because his ego is so high. The 5 kages are quite strong(and could be a threat). Yet he just ignores them while playing with them. He ignores small things, that are in the way of his larger picture(his larger picture now, is
Get other rinnegan back.
Begin eye of moon plan.

If he knows how to counter the tools,(which he probably does) then that further decreases the threat of them.

I certainly agree that randomly burping up the sages tools was completely random and out of place. But nothing of how it was done was out of character for him.(in my opinion.)

This is the cliche sort of thing villians do.

They have a plan. They crush most opposition. They see the remnants as no threat, as they are about to be finished. Because they ignored/underestimated them, they wind up loseing.

Madara fits that cliche villian type perfectly. He has the ego, he has the plan, and he underestimates his opponents.
