So why isn't there a signature, image, and link restriction of like 72 hours and 50 posts for new members? Especially if you're going to let this stuff slide for hours due to lackluster moderation.

It doesn't help that the clowns literally have a taste for shit, it's rarely good so ya'll thirsty members aren't benefiting either.

Why is this thread in Naruto discussions section?

The posts get moderated early on till 50 posts already, usually....

72 hours... hmm registrations were moderated until recently but it's a tedious process to check every single new account and still some can filter through...and people can use that account after 3 days anyway.

Well the moderation is clearly useless because they still have the ability. I'm asking for a complete restriction of images, links, avatars, and Sigs for 50 posts and 72 hours.

Such restrictions have been made in other places and they do prevent the porn spam.

Well it's been tried here too and it did not prevent anything, it just makes it harder to catch the people doing it as they will create multiple accounts and wait til they can post or set their signature alternatively just spam to get enough posts to do it. So no matter restrictions people will keep on posting whatever they want and all we can do is to delete it as soon as we can, and I think it's a bad mentality to punish everyone for something trolls do.

So what can be done about it? Well all you can do is to report it and then don't have to visit the thread again, as it will get removed as soon as a moderator is able to do it. If it's a user signature add that user to your ignore list, and your problem is solved.

But it not such a big problem currently. Its not oftenly happen in NDS just yesterday and Mod already ban all the porn posters

It's clearly not dead, and many people still enjoy it. There is not lack of interest and care, we work hard on a daily basis on this site, but fact stays that if someone wants to post pornographic material.. he can do it, there is no effective way to block that without stripping away rights from normal members to freely express themselves within our rules limits, however what we can do is to delete it as soon as we get the chance to do so. So if you personally feel offended you can always use the ignore function as I said.

I know what case you are referring to, i was in a car queue and luckily had my phone on. However i can't help but facepalm myself to the point you need to Edo Tensei me how much spam and encouragement trolls like these gets when they make threads. There's literally a rule in the global rules that tells you not to post in troll threads. This was clearly a troll thread/a few. If people stopped doing this, those threads wouldn't get to be the hottest thread and thus not reaching out to others.

I think my suggestion would be effective to a certain extent and like i said its a very small delay for anyone who wants to become a member instead of simply trolling. It wont change anything else and no freedom of experssion would be stripped. You say you work hard daily yet this stuff still happens quite alot and I'm starting to think the reason nothing's been done is because you realize that some members find an appeal in it :lol

The way people casually participate in these threads like any other with no consequence proves that. Making rules against posting in such threads is another way to reduce this stuff, but some people like it so why make that rule right? it's quite ridiculous, if your reasoning is freedom of expression then you might as well make the site even more open. :lol

You are contradicting yourself.. Either way, I don't believe your solution solves anything, it's been tried before on NB and did not change anything, other than that people start questioning why they can't use a signature. It is against the rules to partake in trolling, and people do get infracted for it. So just report it and we will delete it, as that is the most effective method so far.

I really don't understand what your point is. I mean the staff, for ages has tried to looked for solutions for such problems. But as Zise pointed out it doesn't work. It's not that we don't want it to work it simply doesn't work. You say that creating a new rule(s) can change the way members act or enforcing the current ones would aslo bring about change. Clearly you've been ignorant to whats happened during the years here on NB and how we, the staff enforce rules on a daily basis yet get bashed for it. But, putting that aside. Do you really believe that members, who can't follow the rules we have now or who simply don't want to cause they say screw the rules will follow any new ones implemented? The rules say don't spam... members spam. The rules say don't bash... members bash. The Rules say don't use alts while banned... members use alts while being banned. It's not a matter of if rules exists or not. We have a clear rule that posting indecent material will get you banned and we are really strict with it. To the point that members have in the past asked for an adult section and was turned down. The matter isn't either in if the mods enforce or not the rules. Because we do, in every way possible. The deal is and always has been members who don't want to follow the rules. Who think they are above anything and everything and that they can get away with what they do. So your suggestion isn't giving us anything new to implement it's only giving us suggestions that we've already tried and that haven't worked. Period.
