I always find it funny that one of the biggest arguments that marijuana is harmful is that you might accidentally do other drugs.

The fact is that many of the 'dangers' of cannabis stem from the prohibition of said substance. It should be regulated like alcohol, which again is more destructive but prohibition didn't work for that either.

It's not even an argument about its risks any more because honestly they aren't any worse then many other things we're exposed to in western modern civilization tobacco, cell phone radiation, alcohol, Rx Medications, the foods we eat. It's an argument about the effectiveness of the prohibition of the drug, which has caused serious social problems and dangers to people who wouldn't be exposed to them if it was just regulated. Not to mention the strain on our prison system and the sub sequential ginancial strain on tax payers due to said over populated institutions.

It's the same as it was in the 20's early 30's if enough people don't think it's a problem local law enforcement wont put the funding towards breaking down on the teenagers smoking pot in their parents garage 'instead of drinking and driving home from a party' or the high school art teacher who sparks a joint to relax after work. The fact is we don't have the money for this and sheriffs have to worry about election season.

Things are illegal for a reason man. Anything that warps your mind from reality is bad for you. Alcohol, should be just as illegal as alcohol. People forget the burdens that their habits have on others.

Doctors become overburdened by people who poison themselves, their time is wasted on something that could have been prevented, while other patients require more urgency.

The government wastes money and time on all of it, paying cops to stop cannabis labs.

1. if your arguing that weed all together is bad, your horribly mislead in your arguement as the overall benefits of the plant itself out weigh the negative side by sooo very much just the stalk itself has over 1000 practical uses such as textiles, medicine, rope, stronger than nylon or cotten, and many more from cellophane to TNT... along with cannabis being an annual plant makes it feasible to replace pine trees,which take 4 years for the first thinning 20-40 for hard wood, as the main pulp supplier.
2. As a drug again same story benefit outweighs detriment. although i will say it is not for all just like anything else. negative effects on some, not all, are headaches, coughing, lung damage (if you smoke it ),if you only ingest it there are no lasting side effects and only 1 lasts that is lung damage from the smoke, inhale any smoke and thats a given.
3. what actually has the most negative affects about cannabis is the prohibition put on it which is outdated and antiquated in soo many ways

Weed can do physical, when smoking it. However, you can eat it. You can vaporize it.
Done with the physical threat.

Weed can do psychological harm. True. Stress can as well. Smoking weed to suppress stress only works catalytic. I know a lot of people who had stress/mental issues, and the weed made it worse.

To smoke weed as a form of escapism is a bad idea.

To consume marihuana from time to time, AND looking after your mental welfare is awesome. All the people who do this, have no problems, only benefits. It's not the weed that is bad for you, it's the abuse.

Some people(for instance people who already have cancer) are getting this, to reduce pain. It helps them.

Gun's don't kill people, people kill people. Marihuana/weed is just a flower of a hennep plant. Being stoned at the wrong time causes the problems. Not the weed per se.
