Want to try and make a list of the richest characters in the series, bit like the Forbes Fictional List. This shouldn't be taken too seriously as the evidence I have for this is seriously lacking and most of it is fairly hypothetical. Feel free to add anyone else.
Note IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER (yet)
- 4th Kazekage (dat Fort Knox)
- Jiraya - money gained through popularity of Icha Icha sales. Also, according to databook, he's completed the most missions of all characters in the entire series. 1,839 official missions in total: 58 D-rank, 345 C-rank, 684 B-rank, 614 A-rank, 138 S-rank.
- Asuma - said to have had a reasonable bounty. Always picks up the check at restaurants
- Feudal Lords (guess they're pretty well paid even though they do nothing)
- Ramen Guy - frequent customers, steady profit
- Kakuzu - obsessed with money, handles Akatsuki financees
- Hyuga Clan - noble clan, probably have a fair bit of money
- Akatsuki - mercenary group, working for villages
- Naruto - His frog wallet is always full. Nearly. Plus when the alliance win the war he'll be swimming in cash. Now he can send Kage Level Clones on support missions while he just chills at Ichiraku's.
- Orochimaru - where the hell does he get the funding for all that research?
- Most Kages - their job probably pays well
- Tobi/Kakashi - Kamui is the perfect justu for theft. Although they would have to negotiate some way of sharing their spoils
- Inari/Tazuna - Steady profits from carpenting, also run a drug smuggling business across the Great Naruto Bridge xd
