Since everyone is discussing the little plot-twist, I figured I'd bring this up instead. I always thought Minato had bias toward Kakashi comparable to Kakashi toward Sasuke in part 1. But seeing Minato and Obito's scene actually made me happy. While Kakashi and Rin walk off, Minato stays behind to give Obito some words of encouragement. In addition to being the kind sentimental piece I was hoping existed in the story, this also makes Obito's decent into madness all the more interesting. Any thoughts on this? Anyone else happy with the fact that we finally saw Minato show some concern for Obito?

yes, agreed...i have often wondered what type of relationship minato had with his students. we know he liked and trained kakashi, but as everyone knows sadly when one is smarter/more advanced somehow in the class or in any particular case....people will show partiality to that person (most of the time). hopefully we will see a few more minato/obito flashbacks to show that minato did pay him attention.

Honestly, though, I hadn't seen a single shred of evidence that would indicate a bias toward Obito prior to this chapter. Even after Obito's "death", he seemed rather indifferent about it when apologizing to Kakashi. At least now we know he truly cared about him.

The way i saw was Minato cared more about obito than kakashi to me.

Minato does care for Obito, he even told him about what happened to Kakashi's father
