I have been seeing a lot of really powerful shinobi being put down and compared to part 1 weaklings. One I see more often than not is Nagato, in other words mothereffing PAIN! This is wrong and should be outlawed. . .no. . .no that's too far. They should at least be corrected.
Among those that have turned to being underrated are Hashirama, Hiruzen, Sasuke, Tsunade, Jiraya, and even Naruto! My question is, why have we turned from these formeraly celebrated characters to the Pariahs of the Naruverse? It's because we have been introduced to a mountain of small-time characters having these strange powers that were previously unheard of.
The most recent one I viewed was one (we'll call him TrollFace) had claimed that the 6 Paths of Pain could be beat by Kimimaru. This is ridiculous for so many reasons. We are talking about about the former leader of Akstsuki, who ruled the hidden rain village, single handedly DESTROYED the leaf village with a single technique, and has the Rinnegan. You remember the Rinnegan right? That awesome little eye thing that can use EVERY NATURE TECHNIQUE EVER. No big deal.
There's also a lot of hate for Sasuke, I know that Itachi did a lot for him, but c'mon even if he had help he still managed to succesfully fight A, Gaara and several other Shinobi all at once during the Kage Summit. All the help he had was from his team, who he constructed. Let's also not forget that he killed Deidara, a very over-rated character, and Danzo, the one who manipulated basically everything in the Uchiha life as well as several others like Kabuto and Sai.
The fact that all of these characters are considered so weak and are constantely referred to as "over-rated, useless shinobi" is an insult to the time that Kishi put into creating these deep and important characters. He brings in these "throw-away" characters during this war is because if it was just a bunch of Kage fighting how many of the fodder Allied shinobi forces would survive? You'd basically have a bunch of really strong characters who are immortal fighting a bunch of just a strong ones but who are mortal. How is that an interesting fight?
And don't give me any of that "Itachi one shotted Nagato so he sucks" argument. We have already established that Itachi is a genius and that Nagato would destroy most anyone who came near him. Nagato was fighting Bee, Naruto and an immortal Itachi, how are you supposed to fight that?
All I'm saying is that due to these bunch of strong filler characters coming into the light again, we have forgotten the ones that could destroy just about any other Shinobi in the Naruverse. Respect the power man, they could rape you in your dreams. There's a justu for that I'm sure.
