Okay so I just read an article on this new project "The 2045 Initiative" Apparently a 32 year old Russian Billionaire Dimitry Itskov aims to create android bodies that will allow us live forever through a transfer of consciousness.

This is his timeline. Regardless of when it gets completed it seems like this technology will eventually exist.

So this makes me wonder hmm so what do we have lets see. We have Time, and we have gender. That means that when you live you can never experience everything because you only have one gender and cant experience both sides. (surgery doesn't count)

So if we try to decipher the meaning of life with what we have it only seems to me that

The meaning of life is the meaning you give it, but in the end the meaning of life is to die.

To expand upon this most of the time if you are born as an animal your meaning is sort of given to you. When humans finally evolve we get to pick our own meaning for life.

Remember no speculation just the facts we have. Since every living thing in history has died then the only logical explanation is that life's meaning is to die.

This doesn't rule out God though. What if we already live forever through infinite lives? Then all we need is faith to live forever. Dying is necessary to be a completely new being with no experience.

Humans first sinned when they gained knowledge of both good and evil


Now if we knew we lived forever this would strip life of its meaning.

As for the title of this thread. God is perfect one day technology will be perfect. No time will be needed
no errors. The only thing left with imperfections would be life.

Throughout all of history Life has been filled with pain suffering and hatred. Only in modern times peace is slowly being established. BOOM computers are invented. Without hatred, pain, and death life loses its meaning and we destroy ourselves through building our own God our own Heaven. Androids that live forever. If we do this it would mean we didn't have faith in God. If we don't allow ourselves to die it means we don't truly believe. Therefore we become our own gods controlling our fate of immortality which sounds a lot like the devil. If we choose to live forever we will see that without a time limit life the world will become hell.
Everything is pain sometimes pain can be enjoyable. Pain is feeling, this includes *** which creates new life

If we allow ourselves to become androids new life will become impossible because *** will be impossible. We could easily play both gender roles and eventually experience everything there is to experience. We would find ways to fly! To Swim underwater with no need for air! But then what? What would we do when we experience everything and remember everything since we would be perfect androids? It would get quite boring. New life prevents this boredom! Since no temporary being can experience everything

I believe that our generation is one of the final chosen generations that will determine if all our ancestors having faith was worth it. I believe that this android technology allowing us to live forever will allow each of us to determine if God is real. If we choose to be uploaded God disappears and we realize we are in hell. If you choose to have faith and allow a natural death you will come back with new life (not necessarily on our current world or in any similar time) and this will be your new heaven.

The big Misunderstanding is that Heaven doesn't last forever it only lasts for one brief moment every time you experience love. God is love. If we lived forever love loses its meaning and God ceases to exist, and once again the eternal absence of God is hell. you can only love something if it is temporary and will one day be gone.

If you knew that you and your dog both lived forever would you have any sense of urgency to go play with it outside?

The point of this thread is to HAVE FAITH This theory is my Catholic upbringing with a twist of factual information trying to make sense of it.

This would be a societal impossibility--the government would either highly regulate or ban it altogether, because, obviously, we need to die. Spiritual views notwithstanding, "being alive forever" would cause a serious strain on Terra's resources, namely for the other good organisms that inhabit it.

it doesn't matter if they transfer you to another machine. your brain which is basically you will still deteriorate with age. unless they somehow figure out a way to take the memories from your mind and log them in the android. but then it is not you. it is just a machine going of your memories. of course then there is the matter of your body. so if i remove the brain and leave the body which one has the soul?

Nope you don't need to beg for forgiveness you just have to try to be a better person. See before technology everybody had to die! You could say God was trying to protect us. The real time when we define ourselves if when technology reaches its peak and we can choose if we want to live forever! You can make God real as long as you believe and allow nature to take its course

Why would anyone want to be immortal in this world anyway? Well, it makes sense for non-believers wanting to and believers who doubt their entrance into Heaven.
My faith in the existence of the Afterlife is unwavering. I'd never become an android if given the opportunity.

Childhood is the best because it is disillusioning! You never think about dying you shouldn't have to as a child because you have so much time! You essentially believe you live forever and that's all that counts! Childhood is what life is all about for all species!
