The moment the Jutsu, Izanami, continues to playback in Kabuto's mind, Itachi is slowly, but surely releasing Edo Tensei.

Izanami curses Izanagi saying that she will kill 1000 people per day. In response, Izanagi says that 1500 people will be born each day. In another variation of the story, it is stated that Izanami told Izanagi to leave, however, he came back while she slept and lit a fire that revealed her decayed form, prompting him to escape out of fright, and barricade her inside with a giant boulder. ~Wikia~

Simpler and a more understandable form of these: Izanami 'Decides Destiny' (Live or Die) and Izanagi 'Makes Dreams A Reality' (Rebirth).

Sasuke is part of the illusion, but not necessarily assisting Itachi with the Jutsu.

Yeah I don't think it means anything. I think he is just doing that to show that in the real world Kabuto is no longer a threat, since he can't move while being stuck in the Izanami loop.

He could also be using Tsukuyomi, or is about to use it, to learn how to undo Edo Tensei. Itachi used his Amaterasu eye to use Izanami, so he can still use Tsukuyomi.
