This is my training session from before! Though water is my worst element....I'll try to give you a better effort than what I did with Shinta!

Haha, I appreciate the enthusiasm. Believe me when I say, water won't be your worst element for much longer ^_^
-----------------
Just for this first post I'd like you to continue where Shinta left off, then I'll go back and cover some things that I personally feel need to be addressed in water training. That'll be when my training style will begin.

So, use the code that Shinta supplied and analyse the three techniques he posted. For the last time.

Three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. it pushes the opponent away
2. it does minor damage
3.
Three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. it's only short range
2. MUST be in close contact!
3.
Strategies and combinations: you could use (Doton: Yochi no Douyou) - Earth Release: World Shaking to leave them unbalanced to get short range and hit them.
How you would counter it: with (Doton: Doryuheki) - Earth Release: Earth Style Wall Jutsu
How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I start by performing the ram hand seal as I gather my water chakra sending it too my right arm as I firmly thrust my right hand releasing the water in the form of a projectile bullet that drives through your shadow clone pushing them back several feet while doing minor damage.

Three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. it's quick enough to close the gap between you and the opponent
2. the multiple sword slashes
3.
Three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. Need to be in the appropriate range
2. it leaves you open for a long range attack.
3.
Strategies and combinations: you could use (Doton: Dorosandan) – Earth Release: Mudshot to block their view and use this jutsu.
How you would counter it: with any jutsu.....let's say... (Fūton: Kaze No Yaiba) - Wind Style: Wind Blade
How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I start by gathering my water chakra as I generate a platform of water under my feet, using my water chakra, I swiftly ride toward your clone slashing them with multiple sword attacks.

Three advantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. The force of the jutsu
2. Also the speed
3. you can swing it quicker with your hand
Three disadvantages (no obvious ones, be creative):
1. releasing the chakra into the air and having to condense it.
2. it's only short-mid
3.
Strategies and combinations: Actually I'm not too sure. Could you explain one?
How you would counter it: you could block the projectiles with this: (Fūton: Kujaku Senpūjin) - Wind Release: Peacock Whirlwind Formation
How you perform it (with as much detail as you can): I start by gathering water chakra as I release my chakra into the air around me, condensing the water vapour to generate multiple small water projectiles that shoot towards your clone.

I tried my best! Just not good with water stuff.

Not a bad start, honestly the worst thing about that post was the fact that you doubted yourself at the end. Just answer me with confidence, chances are you got everything right. And if you didn't, I'll merely explain why and you'll learn, that is what we're here for after all.

We'll start with the first technique. Firstly, NEVER post in your move that you do minor damage. If you don't say minor damage, chances are people will assume it to be much more powerful than it is. A trick of the trade xD
You actually do not have to be in contact with your opponent, the water forms around your arm, but then by thrusting, you release the water as a bullet. The bullet comes away from your arm and shoots through the air up to short range. Yes, short range is short range, but that doesn't necessarily mean they;re in touching distance of you.

The combo and counter were fine, although I have my own way of doing those tests which we will get to soon. I'd like you to use less earth in future though.

--------------

A key thing to remember with this second technique is that you do not have to finish it with a sword slash, and you don't really have to ride on it. If you can think of another way of using it, then go ahead and let me know, otherwise, I'll come back to it later when I've taught what I want to teach.

-------------------------

The strategy I'd look to employ with this jutsu would be to use it as a distraction. It's powerful enough to force the opponent to deal with it, yet it has other, more useful qualities. The fact that it comes from above you being the main feature to look out for. You use this jutsu, sending bullets of water at your opponent from the air, then follow it up with a fast travelling jutsu of another kind which emanates from your body or the ground, this means your opponent has two different types of attack coming at them from two different angles... something that is much harder to deal with than two jutsu coming from the same location and travelling in the same direction.

Will that suffice?

Alright MockingJay, this met the requirements of what I was asking. I'm kinda understanding it a bit more actually. And of course, I'll try not to use much earth with combinations and counters! Thank you for taking the time to explain! It means a lot to me!

Thank me when we are finished.

For now, I'd like to return to the basics. Personally I believe that with water, this stuff is far more useful than the actual techniques. Once you truly know about water, you'll feel far more comfortable using it. So...

This is how I view water. To me, water is 'versatility incarnate' and given the correct circumstances is the only element capable of countering ALL other elements without simply overpowering them. I think the main thing is understanding how it acts of its own accord after release, water will not merely cease to exist once a technique is over and has a lasting effect on the terrain, regardless of where you are fighting, water WILL effect it in some way. This is something that must be used to your advantage. Water techniques will continue to work through the area around you whilst you build your next techniques, as long as there is water there is a danger and a sense of unknowing in the opponent.

Let's start with something simple but something that a lot of people pass on learning, understanding how water effects different terrains.

I'd like you to state the main terrain/environmental factors in each of the five major nations, not just the surface of the ground, but the air around you as well (Kiri's mist, Ame's rain etc..). Then I'd like you to state how Water effects each of the landscapes.

--------
Just for the record, I'm going to keep this training RP-free. It's probably better I finish it as it was started.

Uhhh.....O___O ????

Kirigakure: Terrain: Buildings and mountains| Air: Mist| The air is also thicker
Amegakure:Terrain: Water and it's raining | Air: Moist
Iwagakure: Terrain: Rocky Mountains and waterfalls. | Air: Dry?
Kumogakure: Terrain: It's full of mountains! Air: The clouds give off cooler air. Also the atmosphere is different!
Konohagakure: Terrain: Grassy and lots of trees | Air: Windy?
Sunagakure: Terrain: Desert/rocky | Air: Hot

I'm not too sure about the affect water would give so I msg'd you about it!

Right, when I did this with Negative Knight, this is what he came up with. Have a read through it and then tell me if you can think of anything he may have missed, or things that you disagree on.

1) Sunagakure is a barren wasteland covered in sand. Its conditions are akin to those in a desert especially the temperature, the dry air and the unusually warm ground. In this kind of terrain the water would seep into the sand below, gradually being absorbed but causing the sand itself to increase in weight and break down.

2) Kumogakure and Konoha are mainly populated by dense forests and woodland-like areas. Should suiton be used here, the trees will act as a natural dam, gradually dissipating the force of the waves and causing them to come to a stop. However, in areas sparsely populated by trees, the water will drain into the ground at a very slow rate as shown when Kisame used Exploding Colliding Wave to create a water source for himself.

3) Kirigakure and Amegakure are mainly all sea, simply resulting in the water level to rise (though not significantly).

4) Iwagakure is similar to sunagakre, in terms of the terrain being a barren rocky landscape. Should suiton be used here it would drain quicker into the ground than in Konoha but not significantly enough to cause a water source to vanish.

Well actually the only problem I thought I saw was the Kumogakure and Konohagakure one. Why would using water create a natural dam and making it disappear force of the waves causing them to come to a stop? And the terrain of Kumogakure don't barely has trees doesn't it?

Also why would Iwagakure make water drain faster!? Is it because of the rocky soil of the ground?

Though I agree with the rest!

Great! A lot of things you just pointed out were exactly what I pulled him up on! The purpose of my posting that and allowing you to critique it was to make you see for yourself that you do know what you're doing. Negative Knight is a sensei, yet, as you can see from the above post, even he didn't know all this stuff to start with. You just have to believe you can do the stuff and that you know the stuff and the chances are you do.

Anyway, back to business. Here's my post to follow up his own. If you have any questions after I've posted it, feel free to ask.

1) Exactly, water jutsu in this terrain forms wet sand, a heavy, relatively dense substance than can be used in conjunction with your earth jutsu. Explain your moves right and you can have earth jutsu which blind your opponent as the wet sand not only inflicts blunt damage but it breaks up on impact and can effect the senses. When sand is infused with water whilst in the air, the water becomes thicker and more damaging, the water also spreads the sand on impact again look to aim for the opponents senses.

2) While its true that the trees will form as you put it a 'natural dam'. The water in these areas seeps into the earth and sets the grass and dirt, forming mud. Mud as you learn and know all too well is slippery and can assist you against certain people extremely well. Water possesses an often over looked level of brute strength, a large amount of water can easily knock over and drag along a human being, flood/ tidal waves are actually the most catastrophic of the commonly occurring natural disasters. You can use this strength to push your opponent against trees or into traps that you laid earlier.

3) Being sea, obviously this gives you means to use your most powerful water techniques instantly as you have an already developed water source. Something that people tend to forget about water however is that although they don't all require a water source, they can all use one. There are a few techniques which state that the user begins by creating a water source, if you have a water source already, you can skip through this part of the technique, allowing youth utilise the jutsu quicker, starting from the second stage of the technique. Even if water jutsu don't state this, they will ALWAYS happen quicker if used from a source. (Ill cover the development of water sources soon enough :p)

4) i actually disagree with your statement here, in my opinion Water on the ground in these areas will automatically be absorbed into the ground slower than if the water is settled on a field for instance. Think about when it's raining, puddles are far less likely to form on fields than in the middle of a street. Dirt and grass are naturally absorbent of water whereas water will merely sit atop of rock. Remember also, rocks are loose pieces of the environment and can be picked up by water techniques to cut and pierce, thus adding damage to what would normally merely be blunt. In this same vein, water can carry Kunai, essentially hiding them inside streams as you spit.

As a water user your best friend will be techniques like great water colliding wave, anything that can make a water source for you, without necessarily saying it makes a water source. Although relatively obvious, some people tend to disregard the water from said techniques once the technique is over, again, my like most RP, Waters power comes from description.

As well as the physical effects, think of the effect of water when you get out of a swimming pool. If your clothes are wet you are naturally going to feel heavier and you will move slower, if you have water in your ears, your ears will ring and sounds will become distorted. Water in your eyes and they sting, water swallowed in large amounts will make breathing difficult and will cause the opponent to cough and sneeze if inhaled through the nose, again, it's all in the description. If you say, the water travels toward your face. Add that this would make it incredibly hard to avoid inhaling or swallowing, add that the water would splash, sending vast amounts into the nostrils, causing coughing and irritation to the eyes. If you don't, your opponent will certainly not do it for you.

Something very simple, layer the ground with water, and it becomes near impossible for the opponent to sneak up on you. When they get close the ground would either make a splash, or a squelch or whatever sound you like... Either way, it alerts you. This works both ways, you can use the sounds that water makes as a diversion tactic, drawing your opponents attention with a carefully placed rock.

Wow I got most of it right, huh!? I'm really glad..

I have no questions at this very moment but I now know how to be more descriptive with water jutsus and how to use it to your advantage! I never thought about what you said: "layer the ground with water, and it becomes near impossible for the opponent to sneak up on you. When they get close the ground would either make a splash, or a squelch or whatever sound you like... Either way, it alerts you".

I never thought water could be used to alert yourself when the opponent rushes to short range. That might easily give you the advantage in the Taijutsu combat/Kenjutsu.
Wow MockingJay, your amazing!!!

Haha! I'm glad you think so, I'm only this in depth for water though xD

Now that we've done that, do you feel more confident about returning to the techniques?
