Suiton or water release, is an elemental chakra nature that involves the manipulation of already existing water or by converting chakra into water. This water can be used in a variety of ways such as creating a transparent shield, creating large masses of water to hit you opponent and even to douse the field to give some lightning jutsu an extra boost of speed.
Suiton is naturally strong against katon, or fire release, as it extinguishes the fire where as suiton is weak against Doton, or earth release, as the sheer mass of the earth is enough to resit and hold back the forces of the water.

In regards to lightning jutsu, water can be used as a medium to channel the current through to focus and in some cases speed up the flow of the lightning. Wind jutsu when combined with water jutsu, are able to create powerful and hard to counter combinations due to the wind pushing the water to increase its power. They are hard to counter as fire would be the normal counter for wind and earth to counter water, but combined the attack becomes neutral to both of these.

(Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu) - Water Style: Water Prison
Advantages: Being water, the prison is transparent allowing me to see how my target is fairing and if they are trying to escape. It doesn't require a water source as it is generated from my charka and the sphere has some capability to be used for defence.
Disadvantages: I need to keep my arm inside the sphere to maintain it's shape which leaves me open to getting shocked by the target if they used a lightning jutsu. Also being short-range combined with the hand seals makes it a difficult jutsu to pull of without a speciality in water.
Handseals: Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare
Performing the technique
I begin to gather my water chakra after which I perform the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare hand seals. When I finish the seals, I extend my right hand outwards and release a large amount of water from my mouth which I manipulate to form a large sphere of dense water. I keep my right hand on the sphere to maintain the shape and density of the water prison, so that I can keep my target imprisoned.

I begin my releasing a thick mist from my mouth to cover my location and the opponents to the point that they would not be able to see me. I then proceed to merge with the ground, leaving it undisturbed at the point of entry where I then travel behind the opponent where I am within arms reach of them. Upon exiting the ground I perform the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare hand signs as I expel water from my mouth, manipulating it around my opponent to trap them in a dense sphere of water.

Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

Ok, i want you to focus your suiton chakra. Then, i want you to think of the properties of water. Then try your best to change your physical appearance, turning into water yourself. This can be used to not take damage from taijutsu.

As I see you running at me, I gather my water chakra and flood it through my system where I focus in the properties of water. I concentrate on the flow water has in a stream, it's density and it's preference to displace instead of being compressed. I then release my chakra while keeping these properties in mind to convert my entire body to water, causing your kick to just flow through my watery body.

Advantages: Creates a decent sized mass of water that can be used in a number of ways to attack (the dragon being most common) and can be held back until the perfect time to attack
Disadvantages The large water source formed can be used by the opponent if they use a higher ranked jutsu requiring a water source, turning your own jutsu against you.
