Sorry for the late reaply I couln't log onto the base for some reason.

  • Water is a substance that is formed out of Hydrogen and Oxygen (I'm not sure that I spelled it right).It has no solid foundation like earth and it takes the shape of the idk terrain,object it is in.Living beings need water in order to live.Water can also be deadly:tidal waves,floods and so on.In narutoverse Water Release is one of the basic five elements.It grants the user the ability to manipulate existing water sources or to create their own water by turning their chakra into water.
  • Water has a natural strengh to fire because it extinguishes the flames by cooling and slowing down the molicules of fire.
    It is also strong to Storm because a large Water source can also be used to diffuse the Lightning from storm release.
    Also it has a strengh to Dark release because even if a Dark release technique absorbs the chakra from the water technique it won't absorn the water itself.
  • It is weak to earth because earth based techinuqes can take on the force of the water impact wich is what most water techniques use to hurt the opponent.For similar reasons water is weak to Wood Release,Steel Release and Crystal Release.
    For obvious reasons water is very weak to ice and has a double weakness to it.
    It has also a double weakness towards Scorch release as Scorch techniques dehidrate the water so nothing is left.
  • Water can be used in conjuction with all other basic elements wich makes water techniques even more deadly than when they are used alone.
    It can be used in conjuction with wind techniques.Wind techniques can increase the range,speed and power of the water technique they are used in conjuction with.Also wind and water together are components of Ice Release.

    When used with lightning,as water is a natural conductor of electricity,the lightning can pas through the water and electrify it causing more damage when the combo techniques hit the opponent by electrocution.Also water and lightning form Storm Release.

    It can also be used in combination with earth so it forms mud.Earth and Water are components of wood release.

    In the end it can also be used with fire.When you use powerfull,high temperature fire techniques with water techniques it can create vapour wich can scorch the opponent.Water and fire are components of Boil Release.

Basically all Water Jutsus can fall in 5 categories, which is what I'm going to teach you. They will vary in power as the ranks go up, but their techniques are pretty much the same:

Method 1: Basic Projectiles
Method 2: Streams/Water Sources
Method 3: Water Manipulation
Method 4: Alternative Releases (Water/Oil/Syrup)
Method 5: Specifics (Body Liquid)


The first method is about focusing water chakra from within your body and then materialize it as a quick and concentrated projectile of water. They all follow the same method, concentrate water chakra on your mouth, mold it by using handseals and then spit it out. They have speed and a certain tangibility, of course, never faster than wind or stronger than earth, but they do pack a certain punch. This, allied with the fact that they don't require water source, and thus can be freely used wherever, makes them quite resourceful.

So begin by concentrating water chakra on your mouth and spit it out, aiming to knock off these beer bottles. *places 3 bottles on a nearby fence, 10 meters from you*

*I start gathering and focusing my suiton chakra inside my body and once I have gathered enough of it I start channeling the previously gathered and focused suiton chakra and once I have channeled it I spit out the previously channeled suiton chakra from my mouth towards the 3 beer bottles on the fence.*

Here is the list of techniques that employ this method (Handseal > Charge Water in Gut > Spit a Water Projectile). Like the method says, none of them require a water source.

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid

Description: Creates small waves of water,small blasts, and small shields of water.

This has other methods of preforming, but one of them is the ability to spit out small projectiles shaped like bullets. Should have the same speed as a throwing ball.

(Suiton: Teppoudama) - Water Style: Water Bullet

Descripton: A large sphere of rotating water that is spit out of the users mouth that can blast a huge area leaving it soaked.

Bigger bullet, slightly faster given the rotation of the water and the increase of power.

(Suiton: Suikoundan) - Water Style: Water shark bomb

Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: A water projectile shaped like a shark that comes crashing down on the opponent.
(No water source required)

Similar to the ones above, but has the shape of a shark thus is more hydrodynamic and aerodynamic. It is still essentially a water projectile, so it won't change speed mid-air/underwater.

(Suiton: Teppoudama) - Water Style: Water Bullet

Description: The user performs Tiger – Serpent hand seals to create a stronger version of the Water Release: Water shark Bomb technique, which creates a gigantic shark, far larger than the user, to attack the opponent. This technique differs from its parent jutsu in being able to absorb the chakra from an opponent's technique, and in turn use that chakra to grow larger and more powerful.
Note: Technique can only absorb up to B rank level techniques.

The strongest water projectile technique. Is basically the same as the Shark projectile I mentioned previously, at a much bigger scale and with the power to absorb weaker techniques without loosing power or speed, which translates in the jutsus being incorporated into the shark (Earth adds debris which increases the tangibility/mass f the shark, Fire heats it up, Water adds more substance/mass, Lightning electrifies it, Wind lowers the temperature and sharpens the edges, increasing speed).

I begin to open my chakra points throughout my body, I let my suiton chakra ooze from the core of my body toward my mouth there I let if build up and gather I then visualize in my head the fluidity of the water and it's characteristics upon being launched as the characteristics are clear enough, I release my chakra from my mouth as my chakra is emitted it uses the humidity in the air to turn into water projectile that hits the three water bottles.

  • Water and earth Earth is strong against water since it will absorb the water due to the characteristics of both elements. Water can be used with conjunction with earth to create mud that can cause the opponent to sink.

Water and Lightning, I disagree. I believe Water prevails over Lightning, if they're of the same rank. Lightning as power, but Water has tangibility, and will absorb the current. More often than not, shooting a mass of water against a lightning bolt will make the water absorb the lightning and continue electrified.

Steam can also conceal your tracks, don't forget.

The technique can only absorb B ranks. A ranks definitely stop it, they're Water's weakness. Btw, absorbing the chakra of a technique does not mean stop it or vanish it. The elements will still be present, but they will be incorporated into the jutsu. Make it hotter, make it colder, make it electrified, fill it with rock, etc etc.

next method is Method 2: Streams/Water Sources.

These techniques also require no water source to be preformed, and are in fact one of the best ways to actually create a water source. They stand as the ability to materialize a more continuous and thus bigger stream of water, instead of a short-timed shot of water, like in the previous method.

You can preform these techniques in two forms:

1. Handseals
2. Charge Chakra in the Gut
3. Spit out a continuous stream of water.

or

1. Handseals
2. Charge Chakra in the air
3. Materialize a great mass of water from nothing and direct it at your opponent.


Since it's continues, it carries more force than a projectile, so if a stream jutsu is of the same rank as a projectile, although the initial collision would be equal, the stream would continue to push afterwards. It is also a great way to create a water source to manipulate afterwards.

Another great way of using it is, if the range of the technique allows, materializing the water right on top/around your opponent. If you preform it correctly, you could encase your opponent in water and drown him, or, if the opponent is using a lightning jutsu, it will cause your opponent to electrocute himself.

But there is a disadvantage, as noted by a mist01. Since you are continuously and actively delivering chakra and water, it will make you vulnerable or at least distracted to other jutsus. I know for a fact that Izuna enjoys disrupting people's jutsus whenever he has the chance. There is an advantage to continuous output of water (or wind, fire, etc), as you can push continuously, but it also means you're busy for a longer duration of time.

You can, at any point of the technique, dispel it and quickly focus on something else, but the danger remains, and you should be aware of it.

Well, yes. With the same jutsu, you can attack several targets, simply by moving the head, for example, of from the magnitude of the attack.

Materialized water anywhere within range, but the water is materialized with no momentum, so it must be created at a relatively big height in order to gain more power due to gravity.

(Suiton: Bakusui Shōha) - Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave

Similar to many of the previous techniques. Btw, small ocean's worth is an exaggeration, it's more like a lake than an ocean.

(Suiton: Suijinheki) - Water Style: Water Encampment Wall

Description: This defensive jutsu creates a wall of water around the user. The user will use the following hand seals to activate the technique Tiger → Snake → Rat → Snake → Tiger. Enemy attacks are completely intercepted by a fence of water blown out from the mouth, and is raised from below with tremendous might. The water is blown out in the form of a circle around the user, and it makes for a defence without openings. It is also possible for the user to control the amount of water and duration at will. Furthermore, because the field of vision is maintained even while defending one can easily go on to the next move, which is a great advantage. The wall can also be formed from a pre-existing water source.

Works similarly to previous techniques. The difference is that once the stream reaches a certain distance, about 1, 1.5 meters from your mouth, it inverts, as if it hit an invisible wall, and it forms a strong sphere around you.

(Suiton: Dai Bakusui Shōha) - Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave

Description: This technique is a stronger version of exploding water colliding wave technique. The user will first perform the ram hand seal and then spits out a large amount of water that covers an entire area, with massive waves that can crush the opponent. The user then forms the water into a giant orb, instead of releasing like weaker version of the technique.

Similar to technique I taught previously. Instead of spreading out, the water forms into a gigantic orb, with you in it's center. As you move, so does the orb, if you wish it so.

I know I said you can't hinder his progress in any way, mangekyo, but you can ask questions even if he doesn't have any xD

Well then, Method 3: Water Manipulation.

It stands as the ability to apply your chakra onto any water source around you, and re-shape it, move it around, give it motion. Through this method, you are able to give water almost any use. It plays out similarly as the other methods. First you make Handseals, then you spread chakra on any water source within range, then you make that water source preform any action you want it to preform.

Except a few exception, ALL the jutsus require a Water Source.
