Well water release is one of the five chakra natures in naruto. Water release allows the user to create water from within or manipulate a water source.
Water release is strong against fire release, due to the water extinguishing the fire, but if someone uses a D rank water jutsu against a S rank fire jutsu, the fire will evaporate the water and win that elemental clash. So rank can effect the elemental battle. Water release is weak against earth jutsu's, due to the earth preventing the flow of water, rendering it useless. Many ninja's use water release e.g Kisame,Tobirama,and mei, but ninja's from kiri are known for their wonderful and power water jutsu's ^^.
Some water jutsu's are Water Clone Technique, Water Prison Technique,Water Release: Gunshot etc. I plan on using water jutsu's in a battle offensively, creating water projectiles, creating water whips etc. I plan on using it defensively, creating a wall of water, and I plan on using it as a distraction such as stormy blockade. I plan on combining water with other elements creating more powerful attacks, such as using water and lighting together.

Well mixing water and lightning based chakra's creates the kg storm release.
Water is a excellent conductor, so it can conduct the lightning creating a powerful water/lightning combo.

Alrighty. For the first justu I'd want you to utilize your suiton chakra in a variety of ways. I want you to create a small blast of water to hit my clone in the face. Then I want you to simply move the tides of the water, detail is key young one. This is a great justu so I will elaborate on it more once you've completed the task.

I begin by gathering my water chakra in my gut. I channel it to my throat where I shoot out a blast of water towards your clone hitting its face. I use shape manipulation to shape the water into a globular shape, I then channel my water chakra into the water source, allowing me to control it. I manipulate it to create small tides.

It can be used as a attack,defense and a distraction as said before. It can also be used to manipulate preexisting water sources.
Since it can manipulate preexisting water sources, it really doesn't have a size limit. For instance, it can create a massive wave of water by manipulating the water source.

I wouldn't go that far now. Its still a D ranked justu. Creating giant waves would be more of an advanced technique. Like B and higher. For the next justu simply stand atop of the lake and insert your chakra into it. Then control it as to where it turns into a thick mist infused with your chakra. Once you've done that explain to me how this works against the various dojustu. If you don't know I'll explain.

The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

Good, wouldn't hurt to give me a little more detail. But good. Create water out of thin air and form a sword of water into your hand. What could you conbine this with in order to get a clean hit off ?

I begin by sending my water chakra into the air, allowing me to materialize water from thin air. I manipulate the water to form a large sword that is created in my left hand.
I would combine this with a wind jutsu, that allows me to coat it with wind chakra, giving me the sharpness that is provided from the wind, giving me the ability to get a clean cut.

I didn't really mean actual cut. I meant good hit. For the next justu utilize suiton chakra in your arm and form a shield the comes from your hand. Simple justu. Not much to it so I'll ask you. Useful or unuseful ? Explain why either way.
