Minato is the 4th hokage but we never known anything about his back-ground I was just wondering did he come from the land of waves?? Going back and doing some research I believe he did The land of waves was a poor nation with a none hidden village organization. The reason i believe he's from there is because of his last name Namikaze meaning wind & waves and Minato meaning harbor as Uzumaki The Clan means whirlpool being from the Whirlpool country.

Country Background:

The Water country is one of the smaller countries in the series, but it has a strong ninja force. This coupled with it being an island grants the country a great defense against outside threats. The greatest threats to the country seem to come from within, constant wars and strife has caused many citizens and ninja to turn against themselves and the country leadership. Rumors state Akatsuki was formed in the country and that they managed to influence Yondaime Mizukage. Godaime Mizukage eventually came to power and tried to put the country's violence to rest.

Village Background:

Hidden Mist is one of the more powerful ninja villages in the world, allowing its leader to be called a "Kage." As such it is one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries. It is unknown if the country has any current alliances. Mist has drawn the country into many wars in the past. Under the leadership of the Fourth Mizukage, the citizens of the country blamed the constant strife on the powerful clan bloodlines in the region. For that reason they turned against the clans and wiped many of them out. It is unknown if any bloodlines remain active in the service of Hidden Mist.

Land of Waves

The Land of Waves (波の国, Nami no Kuni?) is a poor nation, and as a result does not have a hidden village. It is an isolated island, but was prosperous until the country was taken over by Gato, who monopolized the economy. The Land of Waves is introduced early in Part I, and Team 7, which consists of the main characters of the series, travels to the Land of Waves as bodyguards for a bridge builder. With the aid of the populace of the Land of Waves, Team 7 manage to defeat Gato and his hired assassin Zabuza Momochi, and his assistant Haku, and restore the country to its former status. As a sign of gratitude, the bridge is named the "Great Naruto Bridge" (ナルト大橋, Naruto Ōhashi?) in honor of Naruto Uzumaki, the main character of the series.

I believe places like the hidden rain, hidden water fall, whirlpool country, land of waves & etc stem off of the same place but separated because over things like control of power and money issue. This lead to the creation of new ones and rogue/renegade ninja's and people leaving there own country for a better life at places like kohona for example.

Look how Zabuza speaks about his graduation exam for murdering his class mates and how friends who played eat & work together started killing each other to pass.Further backs up my theory on how the water country feel in dis-spear

Haku also metioned how his clan was in a snowy village in the hidden mist village and his clan was used as weapons that they beileve lead to the destruction and choas that has happen in the hidden mist causing civil wars. Yet again backing up my theory

The Mizukage was almost assassinated by Zabuza what i think was for a good reason. I also think that zabuza was'nt the only rogue ninja trying to kill him and zabuza wanted to take control of the hidden mist for reason unknown.

The hidden rain pain battle with Hanzou the leader of the hidden rain killed him his whole family ,friends and everyone who had tie toward him and a civil war broke out.

I really doubt he was from Kirigakure.. Since he was trained by Jiraiya as soon as he graduated. He seemed pretty young in that photo, like 8+ or younger.. Also as Madara said Senju retained supremacy he could be a descendant of the Senju's which were part of the Hidden Leaf.

Well I Think He's From The Land Of Waves Its Basically A Poor Broke Down Village That I Believe Stem Off The Water Country When Looking Back Namikaze Meaning Wind & Waves And Land Of Waves Hey There Maybe No Connection But Naruto Mother Is From The Whirlpool Country Why Would She Leave It In The First Place??Alot Of The Water Villages Are In A Critical State Right Now 4th Mizukage Fightning The 5th Mizukage Them Killing People From Haku's clan Civil Wars Breaking Out In The Hidden Mist And In The Hidden Rain There's Also Filler Episode But Im Not Gonna Put In The Manga Section

And Where's All The Namikaze Clan Atleast One Of Them Would Raise Naruto And Know Who His Father Was Would'nt You Think??

She probably left it because it was broken down and going to be nonexistant since we don't see it anymore or hear about it. 4th already fought 5th, It's not happening now, 5th Mizukage said it happened.

I doubt there's a Namikaze clan.. It's probably just a branch of Senju's. Since we don't hear about the Senju clan since it seems like it split into many different groups.

Well Kishi is strongly hinting that Naruto shares some connection to the Senju's and not just inheriting the WoF. That would mean one of his parents would had to have a background in Konoha and with his mother being from the former whirlpool country, I'm pretty sure Minato is part of that line between the Senju/Uchicha. Then again, Minato's father could've been part of the Senju clan, went to the Water country, found a wife and she either gave birth to Minato there or in Konoha, moved back because it wasn't stable there and Minato took her surname.
