Wasn't KID MS Obito and ADULT MS Obito the same thing?

however the kid obito who first took out those mist ninja couldn't even control his kamui properly, he's much weaker.

There's very little difference. Both versions of Obito rely heavily on kamui. He received all his training from Madara anyway, so his strength as a kid with MS would've been at the very top.

His little scuffle against Fu and Torune shows just how skilled he was in combat. Both were able to figure out his ability and actually touch him. He still isn't better than Kakashi in CQC either.

They didn't touch him, it was the other way around, he touched them

The adult one hardly even fought but showed an exstenive good use of Gedo mazou nine phantom seal on killerbee, and had a collection of eyes to use Inzanagi.
