Underwhelming & overrated? Or was it meh, or perhaps you actually liked it alot?

I mean like in comparison to when you read VoTE 1 for the first time?

Personally, I think I was probably expecting to much, I wanted to se more ninjaish tactic not just ninjutsu til both were tired. Therefore I'll say it was underwhelming.

Overwhelming. Their attack output was in the sky and the perspective made it look less destructive.

I wanted them to start from base and work their way up feeling each out like DBZ. I hate how they just took the Hashi Maddy route.

I really enjoyed it once they packed the glowy giant superpowers away and just fought like actual people, there was a lot of depth and drama to the fight that fanwankers will overlook. Reminded me of Part 1.

Underwhelming.

It didn't help that the manga was counting down to the end and there was all the fuss about The Last during the final chapters.

In a way, those things took away from their battle.

Out of curiosity, what would be the battle that you wanted?
- The battle I wanted would be really convoluted and without a doubt the best fight in the entire series, and in a word: perfect. I envisioned it with being a special animated half an hour OVA of sorts, where old and epic soundtracks would be used and the animation would be phenomenal.

- The final fight would also be among Naruto and Sasuke at the peak of their power (adults), instead of the residual, let's-get-it-over-with fight we got. The talking would be minimal, as Naruto and Sasuke understand each other through fists, not words.

- It would also be a battle among rivals, instead of enemies - Naruto would want to finally beat Sasuke, and Sasuke would want to confirm who's the stronger of the two for sure.

- The battle would have 4 stages:

1. Initial - where Naruto and Sasuke clash, exchange basic attacks, a few Katons, base Rasengan, etc., but still at a heightened scale to show their growth. Sasuke would activate 3T at one point, while Naruto starts creating clones.

2. Mid - where Naruto and Sasuke start upping the tempo, start moving faster and putting more force and chakra into each of their attacks. Sasuke would at this point activate EMS while Naruto goes in base RSM. We'll see techniques like Lava Rasenshuriken and Susano'o activated, also a new technique/ability from both.

3. Main - Naruto and Sasuke take the battle to the sky. Naruto is in his full RSM, Sasuke uses both EMS and Rinnegan. This is the point where all the nukes are exchanged, and the battle is at its peak. Continents are wiped out, Naruto and Sasuke cross countries in seconds with their speed. More new techniques are shown from both.

4. Final - Having their avatars destroyed by their clash, Naruto and Sasuke are down but still have enough chakra to fight at an above average pace. This is where all the strategy is put in. It'd be really edge-putting, when it seems like one of them is the assured victor, the other pulls off a come back. The battle ultimately ends in a draw, and yes - with a Chidori and Rasengan clash.

But... I got the VoTE fight instead. :lol

That's a pretty interesting vision you've got for that battle. Mine would be mostly similar. Let me give my thoughts.

Indeed.

I envisioned it with being a special animated half an hour OVA of sorts, where old and epic soundtracks would be used and the animation would be phenomenal.
Great. But aren't we talking about the manga? Though it would be far more interesting if this fight was fully featured in a separate movie, whatever the plot may be.

- The final fight would also be among Naruto and Sasuke at the peak of their power (adults), instead of the residual, let's-get-it-over-with fight we got.
Yes, agreed. And that would also clear up a lot of confusion as to whether who is actually stronger. And also, we haven't seen Adult Naruto and Sasuke's full power either, so that'd be a great way to display just that. It would be much better if this was a separate fight in a movie with the animation as you say.

The talking would be minimal, as Naruto and Sasuke understand each other through fists, not words.
Definitely. Too much time was wasted on this.

- It would also be a battle among rivals, instead of enemies - Naruto would want to finally beat Sasuke, and Sasuke would want to confirm who's the stronger of the two for sure.
I'm not sure how would this work out or whether I'd like it or not. I mean them fighting as enemies created the true thrill of the fight, we didn't know what would happen. Them fighting as friends will make the fight too much predictable. And also not that thrilling.

Also, I don't know how plot would support this factor. What would be the point of Sasuke's so called "revolution"?

More or less, this is perfectly planned. Though, as you say it would be a fight between rivals, the fight going to a continent busting scale wouldn't make sense. Why would friends fight each other with such might with the potential killing factor.

But... I got the VoTE fight instead. :lol
LMAO xd

Though, how I would like it is if the fight should be somewhat of a new thing in terms of power. For example, how interesting would it be if Hagoromo's spirit appeared in Naruto and entrusted him with the power and responsibility to fight/stop Sasuke, who had turned evil (temporarily) and really powerful and threatening due to Kaguya endowing him with her power in a different way (she isn't dead like Hagoromo so the spiritual power transfer is not possible), and entrusting Sasuke with the responsibility to fulfill her ambitions she failed at, since she should be incapable of resurrecting herself so she found a great person in Sasuke for that purpose who basically had the similar mindset of peace as her.

All that in such a way that they receive watered down powers of Hagoromo and Kaguya respectively (in a different form visually and with a different usage) in a way that they still remain somewhat equal or Sasuke is slightly stronger, at least temporarily for that fight, and Naruto should defeat him through sheer determination. That would create some really interesting dynamics between the two, and in that way, we could have avoided the Otsutsuki bulls*** and the entire vs Kaguya fight and would've still seen Kaguya's powers through Sasuke, with a more sensible depiction.

And having Naruto with Hago's powers and Sasuke with Kaguya's would have ditched the need for Madara to become what he became, and die an embarrassing and troll death. Rather he would have remained an Edo, and fought alongside JJ Obito as FVs, with BSM Naruto, EMS Sasuke and the Hokages against them.

I'm just gonna address some of your points, I agree on everything else:

TheDemonHawk said:

Manga is one thing. Having it animated with soundtracks and perfect visuals, creating fluidity, is completely different. A manga version would probably be imperative, but a special episode is more fitting for a final battle of 700 chapters worth of rivalry.

We already saw how fighting as enemies went - Naruto played on defense and refused to pull out his heavy hitters until he was forced to. Naruto would have much more incentive to go all out if his goal would be to beat his rival, since he himself said that he definitely wants to beat him, but not ''the current him''. That pretty much means that he'll never take a bloodlusted Sasuke seriously. Sasuke himself never goes easy on Naruto, so that's that.

TheDemonHawk said:

My version doesn't really follow the standard plot, ergo Sasuke's attempt at a revolution. I actually don't really care about the details, the fight itself is more important.

TheDemonHawk said:

That's like saying why are friends throwing kunai knives at eachother when they're up against one another since every knife can potentially be lethal - because they know the other can handle it. It's pretty much the same deal with N&S, but on a much, much higher scale. Since Naruto and Sasuke are on the same general level, it's unlikely any of them would be killed until the end.

I liked your scenario as well, though. Madara definitely didn't deserve that stupid death.
