Was Tobi's identity the most theorized mystery ever in all of fiction?

I can't imagine otherwise. Countless threads on multiple websites and countless YouTube videos regarding Tobi's identity...

But I haven't read and watched all fiction of course, so I can't know forsure. You're a fan of works of fiction that I'm not, so help me out here.

Harry Potters fans. There was some huge mystery in the movies and/or books, right? Was it bigger than Tobi's identity?

I was a fan of CW's The Flash from day one. Dr.Wells', Zoom's, and Savitar's true identities were quite big mysteries, but not on Tobi's level.

On Game of Thrones, the Night King is a pretty big mystery. And Jon Snow's parentage was obvious.

I don't know about all of fiction - that sounds like a bit of a stretch - but I would say it was hands down the greatest mystery of manga/anime.

Been thinking the same. I've watched a lot of different shows from anime to movies and so on. Naruto is bad in many ways compared to many different shows regardless of their genre. But if I have to be honest, the mystery behind tobi's identity was the greatest one I've ever experienced. I can give that to Naruto for sure. At least personally, I still can't find any other similar mystery that could fill the void that this one left behind. What's making it so great is probably it's length, connection to the main villains (Akatsuki), connection to one of the most hyped characters in the series, if not the most hyped ones - Madara and Tobi's reactions to all of that. Just his mere presence with his mask reminded you of how there are much greater secrets behind the scenes than just Akatsuki and their leader Pain.. The long years of waiting and the slow build up for all of the following: Tobi's mystery, Madara's hype, Akatsuki's secret and final villain/characters interactions all helped for this secret to be one of the most exciting experiences I've ever had in regards to speculation world.

I hope one day I can witness similar story-telling mystery in order to enjoy all of this again!

I thought that Tobi was Kagami Uchiha , because i thought that Tobi was an Old Uchiha potentially alive who had many experiences. Kagami Uchiha was the Perfect candidate to be Tobi, and when Kagami was child Madara was already alive , and Madara could have been his idol or teacher.

I am a CW flash series as well. Yeah I remember back when I was 12 people were brainstorming about who he was.

Who knows if compared to all fiction. But, I can say that Naruto is the fiction, story or whatever you want is the most debatable in History.

I cant find forums with such loyalty to Naruto where every one debates.
