Was Tobi trolling Nagato?

You think Tobi purposely gave Nagato the assignment to capture Naruto knowing that he will die and his plan to revive Madara will fail? Is Tobi trolling? Nagato did not receive any help from any Akatsuki members! And he was left to fight with crazy Naruto. He would have won if he took his soul and brought him back to life. I don't know. Nagato has a short reign. We expected more from him. Now the Akatsuki full fedge members are hanging on a rope.

Tss, that rasengan in the end was plot rasengan. Pain had enough chakra to blow Naruto away.

Tobi had no idea naruto would go and learn sage mode nor did he predict the clones waiting on stand by to recharge his basically 3 times in the fight.He sent nagato because nobody could beat him and he proved that as soon as he entered konoha and tore it to the ground.
Nagato lost but tobi did not for see it nor did he think it was going to happen

no, even tobi admitted that he couldn't see nagato losing so i really doubt he was trolling.

It’s a cool idea,
I’d liked to see this as it would spice the story a little
but I doubt it, too.

There were just too many unpredictable factors in the whole Konoha attack but especially
Tobi would naver have been able to foresee Narutos talk no jutsu (which I consider as important factor in this fights ending or at least for Nagatos decision how to use the Rinnegan).

Pein was considered the strongest ninja in the world by probably everybody but tobi, perhaps even tobi... they most likely didn't think it was possible for him to lose to a 16 year old boy with no special traits but rasengan and a bad relationship to a demon fox

Tobi is naturally a troll, but in all honesty his trolling does not compare to that of Izaya from Durarara
