Was Tobi affraid of Itachi?

He would not attack konoha when Itachi was alive and I dont believe its because they made a pact.

When Tobi says "Itachi is dead...Nothing stands in my way now" leads me to believe he coudnt execute his plan because he knew Itachi was strong/smart enough to stop him.This also makes me think did Tobi think Itachi could stop Nagoto/Pein, because at the time Pein was alive. Coudn't Tobi just have Pein take out Itachi if he got in the way of Tobi & the akutsuki attacking konoha?

Not just that if you already have the power of Nagato/Pein why do you need Sasuke so much?

Yeah he was just a threat thats about it. From one of the recent chapters tobi, Doesnt seem to be capable of feeling "Fear".

No biggie. Back on topic I think Tobi was partially scared of Itachi's powers hence waiting until his death to attack the Leaf. Although I think part of it may be that Itachi knew too much about Tobi's true plans and identity. If Itachi had just told his comrades that Tobi was manipulating them for his own gain then he'd have quite a problem on his hands.

Tobi does have to fear being sealed by Itachi though. For a man who can regenerate limbs with ease the only thing left to fear is an attack which affects the soul. While we have no evidence that Tobi knew about Itachi's weapons Itachi is still is a force to be avoided if possible.

Do you really think itachi is fast enough to not let Tobi touch him? He's not. Only s/t jutsu can counter another s/t jutsu. Like I said. One touch and the fight is over. You can't seal something you can't stab. Tobi also showed us that amaterasu has no effect on him. Gtfoh.

Well tobi did say he was an eye sore so I'm guessing he was a thorn in his side so scared I don't think so but he definilty saw Itachi as threat he was pretty smart so maybe he new more than we thought he new.

ummm.... don't know abt tobi ,but Nagato surely couldn't have suceeded to stop Itachi, if Itachi have planned to go rouge....
