Izuna got killed by Tobirama, I don't see tobirama killing Itachi or Sasuke.
My point? you are the one trying too make a point, and you failed at it.
Madara > all Uchiha, he's just the superior Uchiha.
Other than that, Obito/Sasuke/Itachi/Shisui/ are the 'best' of the Uchiha.

Izuna was stated to be as skilled as Madara in MS form. so Tobiraam can take on Itachi.

Izuna probably didn't have a Great susano'o with Yata/Totsuka.

I don't think the strength of the senju and uchiha should be measured by simply looking at the strongest members. I admit, Hashirama and Madara could solo an army but they were the strongest members that these clans had ever had, and I believe it was there influence that forced other clans into the village system.
Hashirama captured several tailed beasts I mean. If he says peace, you give him peace. But that doesn't mean that all there clan was at the same power level.
Only 4 other uchiha have so far shown to have awakened Mangekyou Sharingan after Madara and Izuna since the 80 something years that the village was established which means that it is very rare. Even the sharingan is not awakened in every Uchiha, and given the circumstances needed for its awakening, I don't believe more than a few sharingan users were present in each generation. What everyone does seem to have is great talent and ninjutsu skill.
The senju on the other hand we know very little about. Mokuton has not appeared again and the only known living Senju is Tsunade, Who is impressive and all but doesn't compare to Hashirama's level. Obviously the clansmen had large chakra and ninjutsu skill but that doesn't necessarily mean they were powerhouses comparable to Hashirama.
Of course, these 2 clans were definitely the strongest, it is quite likely that there great influence over other clans was due to Hashirama and Madara. Without them they would probably still be superior but still other clans like Hyuuga, Sarutobi, Uzumaki, Kaguya could've been pretty close to their level. The Hyuuga and and Uzumaki especially as they are also from the Sage's bloodline.
Also, it seems that unlike the sharingan, all hyuuga members have the Byakugan at birth, which in my opinion is comparable, if not superior to the two tomoe Sharingan in the hands of a capable user. The few Uzumaki members we have seen so far all possess large chakra reserves and some sort of special abilities. Not to mention they are capable of suppressing the nine-tails and have some very useful sealing jutsu as shown by Minato.
But yeah, Uchiha and Senju were the strongest as far as we have seen...
