I think Trump has made a huge impact and changed the world forever.
Alot of lefties have stopped bullying the right, they no longer call them white supermacists or deplorables they want to respect them and talk to them as human beings.

I think that's a good thing so maybe Trump made a difference in a postive way, I'm glad he is gone now so hopefully politicans can go back to focus on actual issues.

But I do think he might have in some way done something positive, do you think he has changed the world for the better? Or do you think he was just a huge mistake?

yo if anything he showed that you can accomplish your goals with enough determination. he was running for president for years, nobody ever thought he had a chance. even when he was going against Hillary i dont remember anyone thinking Trump would win, a lot of politics is sport, where people will support their party no matter who is elected to represent it. but he won, majority of people were kind of salty and it was only for four years but he did it. also he made it evident to a lot of people it doesnt effect how alive racism still is here in the U.S. with his whole initial first campaign, then the aftermath of him winning and all these racist feeling more comfortable being openly so. it made it trendy for people to be “woke” because how much he was always capping

on the other hand ive been alive through four, going on five administration changes here and ive never seen this country so divided politically (to be fair i was a kid when Bill Clinton was president) its been wild. like the MAGA hat is extremely iconic with how much controversy that would spark with people wearing it. its been extremely divided which hasnt been that great

He did keep promises that he made or at least attempted to, but what a lot of people don't realize is that the president only has limited control over what happens in the White House. The Senate is who has most control and the election isn't over yet. The media doesn't decide the president. They project it, meaning that they're making a prediction of who wins the election.

It's the Senate that decides the president.

The foreign and monetary policies are still set on empire building. Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden; they're all front men, entertainers for the massess to discuss and pretend to be insightful on the matter of deep state politics.

The majority of u.s. taxpayers' money still goes to the military industrial complex, the federal bank reserve is still not dismantled, around a thousand military bases around the world are still not dismantled. Instead of building a wall he could've made all the overseas troops retreat to secure the borders and severely decrease military spending. Yet, they're still meddling in the middle-east and destabilizing entire countries with their intelligence agencies and overlord politics.

Definitely not a good change but for me shed a light on peoples psychology more.

As for his policies I'm not sure what he was able to get done good or bad in his time in office. Theres really nothing he brags of accomplishing in office I hear policy wise so I'm assuming he hasn't done much or anything significant.

Not really if trump wasnt rich and famous I don't think he would get nearly support he has now or get elected. Also him winning more so shows me how gullible or hateful or desperate people are.

yo youre entitled to think that but we dont live in a reality where Trump isnt rich or famous so you cant really say that for sure, even Kanye West is an example of someone whose really rich and famous and that didnt help him enough. hypothetically, if Trump wasnt rich or famous but still had the ambition to run for president and had to take the traditional route, he’d be a different person and he still could win based on that if his determination was still strong enough. people always try to discredit peoples success when youre successful, it doesnt matter in what field. in reality he had a goal and he accomplished it, he couldve just easily given up, started playing victim and making excuses like because he doesnt have a political background or because of this or that but he kept going and thats real. and in reality a lot of people dont reach their goals because of those same trapping regardless of status. so thats why i said that, even if i dont agree with him. i understand what it takes to accomplish really difficult things in life

I like how y'all seem to not remember he can run again in 4 years. Not necessarily the end of anything and if doesn't go exceptional this time bet a lot of middle line voters will lean right next time around.

You're feelings on the man aside Shane Gillis said it best "We had to board up all these shops just in case the left lost then we all have to sit there and be like "how bad is the right." We literally were threatened with violence in this country if the left didn't get their way, that seems like a problem to me...Rewarding people by threatening everybody with violence is bad and I think that's what we just did."

I'm not saying people following him just because he is rich and famous but it helped alot

I'm just saying running on the platform he had I think he might get alot of support but his celebrity has made his campaign to the sensation hes been.

Trump definitely inspired every average joe he has a shot in becoming president and he might of opened the door to making if easier. I'm assuming we will see more celebrities and moguls in the future will be interesting to see how they do. But this election definitely shows majority of people don't want another circus like trump.

Maybe I'm misreading what you wrote but this election rewarded the left with threats of violence. I'm not sure who in the left made that but the threats of violence from the right isn't even comparable.

If you mean reward people due to threat of rallies. For one they weren't rewarded this election due to that people showed up and made it clear they didn't want trump. Secondly who in left advocates looting people just due it to take advantage of chaos and tragedy to blame the left for that isn't fair and wouldn't be surprised people from right took advantage of that aswell.

The city of Philadelphia(and other cities) boarded up stores in a preemptive move in case Donald Trump ended up winning and riots continued as they had been in Portland. So yes this election is the result of rewarding the people who were threatening violence(riots) if they didn't get the vote. There were a few small riots in a couple cities during the counting just at the prospect he might win.

Well, kind of? It's a messy topic that starts well before the 21st century in wake of nationalism after World War 1. This marked a larger change for immigration reform and is one of the first modern cases in US history of propaganda used to disenfranchise asylum seekers, saying people trying to get in (at this time, the most prominent demographics of scrutinized asylum seekers were Asians and South Americans) were killers, bombers, and thieves (and granted this is but a quick overview of what happened in an approximately 100-year span) This started a long-standing on and off the system when it came to immigration into the US which made it harder for asylum seekers from these areas. These changes to immigration reform have taken multiple stages as administrations changed, however people are angry at Trump because he made it virtually impossible for the immigration system to work for anyone. It is backlogged worst than toilets during a Superbowl halftime, people wait years for court dates that are either one, not properly dated, and two, happen at weird times (some people report having to come at early times in the AM for their hearing). It is easier if you have a skill that can be applied to a working visa, however, most illegal immigrants in America are people who have overstayed a visa, and once knocked out of the country, it's damn near impossible to get back in.

Honestly, he was a wake up call to how politics are changing. He ran basically a smear campaign both times and won in 2016, but what made him widely successful had to be the way he controlled half the country with messages that were between 0-280 characters (yes I'm talking about Twitter). It also showed America that they have a Mr. Hyde persona in the form of bigotry/racism which runs institution-deep, and it's up to us to either accept it, or change parts of our system that promote ignorance and intolerance, change our approach, and overcome.

Once again the media doesn't decide the president. The election ends on December 14th and the president has limited control over the White House. It's the Senate that has most control over it. If you look back at the Bush vs Gore campaign you'll know that the Supreme Court were the ones who decided the president.

If people research this they'll see for themselves and keep in mind that at least 95% of what the media says isn't true.
