Was Shikamaru originally meant to be Sakura's female rival???

this pic got me thinking that shika was a scrapped female rival for sakura. it's weird how kishi gave them comparable traits (intelligence) and even their feats are similar (shika understanding tayuya's flute patterns/sakura working out sasori's finger movements) and they were both hyped as teh smartest of their generation. Making them love rivals for sasky would be teh icing on teh meatloaf

I think people forget how intelligent Sakura actually is, Shikamaru didn't know how to take her counter. I believe Sakura is the only K11 member to ever successfully challenge one of Shikamaru's cessations.

Except this is all what Shikamaru has to offer. Sakura in addition heals, has massive strength, regenerates, has massive chakra reserves, has super evasion skills and is a poison specialist.
